The Holiday Trap by Roan Parrish
For fans of Alexandria Bellefleur and Alexis Hall comes a charming, hilarious, and heartwarming LGBTQIA+ romcom about two separate couples finding love over the holidays from acclaimed author Roan Parrish!
Greta Russakoff loves her tight-knit family and tiny Maine hometown, even if they don't always understand what it's like to be a lesbian living in such a small world. She desperately needs space to figure out who she is.
Truman Belvedere has just had his heart crushed into a million pieces when he learned that his boyfriend of almost a year has a secret life that includes a husband and a daughter. Reeling from this discovery, all he wants is a place to lick his wounds far, far away from New Orleans.
Enter Greta and Truman's mutual friend, Ramona, who facilitates a month-long house swap. Over the winter holidays, each of them will have a chance to try on a new life...and maybe fall in love with the perfect partner of their dreams. But all holidays must come to an end, and eventually Greta and Truman will have to decide whether the love they each found so far from home is worth fighting for.
Hi everyone, I'm Melanie (she/her/hers). I live in New Jersey with my husband and our two cats and I work in the finance department at a publisher. I've been work from home for 3.5 years now so I tend to watch a lot of TV shows during the day while working (currently doing a rewatch of Charmed). I primarily read romance and thrillers with the occasional sci-fi or urban fantasy thrown in. I'm not big on high/epic fantasy but there aren't too many genres I actively avoid and I'll read just about anything if it's for a challenge. Here is my shelf.

I did not make progress towards the line this month. I did basically no reading at all this month because I started binge watching Supernatural and reading was promptly forgotten.

I've heard tales of Wobble and it makes me sad that I missed it but it also seems like it was an insane time.
This challenge was a ton of fun and I enjoyed playing with you all. A big thank you to the captains for keeping everything straight.

There's another Kindle edition with that same cover that has the page count as 434 so maybe switch to that one?

I'll be finishing Dead Witch Walking today which has an average rating of 4.03 so I can take that task.

Bernadette wrote: "@Judy - haven’t run into that yet but I’ve been having weird language versions showing up as the default 🤦♀️"There's actually currently a bug on Goodreads that's causing this. It's been a problem for about a week I think. The developers are aware and working on a fix according to the reply I got from support.
Judy wrote: "Goodreads just made me do a captcha to save a review... has anyone ever encountered this?"I've had to do that a few times before. It's not all the time but it occasionally makes me though I don't know why.
Finally done work and I am now off until August 7th. This is the first time I've taken more than a day or two off so far this year and I can't wait to relax for an entire week.

4 books from the following MPGs (can't use any twice): Dystopia / Young Adult / Historical Romance / Guilty Pleasure / Dark Fantasy..."
I'll have that Historical Romance done tonight after work.
Since we have a little over a week left in the challenge, is there anything in particular we need? I'm planning out the rest of my July reads so I'm trying to see if there's anything specific I should work in.
Natasha wrote: "For direction words, I'm thinking about how people give directions so I'd think left, right, over, under should be fine. Maybe even straight "as in go straight through three lights"."I hadn't thought about those as direction words but you're right they make sense.
Sorry that's what I meant by the four cardinal directions. So I looked up those and Up/Down. If we find out other words are allowed (like back, etc.) then I can take a look again. Just don't want to post them as possibilities if they're not actually allowed.
