TRANSFIGURATION
For this class you'll need to form pairs again. One book represents the initial object, the second the transfigurated one.
You can use just a part of something BUT you need to say is that part of something. For example, you can't say person to cat, and then have a book with just an arm on the cover.

Here is the link to the thread - to make it easy to discuss, I'm going to copy the info here.
ARITHMANCY
For this class you need to read one book for each point tier. After that, class is considered mastered and you will earn one point per each book read during the challenge.

Read Pairs of books that represent the Charm you are trying to master (Can be cover or title)
Levitation Charm : is a charm used to make objects fly, or levitate
Cheering Charm : is a spell which makes a person happy. When the spell is overdone, it can cause the victim to be overcome with fits of hysterical laughter.
Mending Charm : also known as the Repairing Charm (Reparo), is a charm that can be used to seamlessly repair a broken object.
Summoning Charm : is a charm that causes a target at a distance from the caster to levitate or fly over to them. This spell needs thought behind it, the object must be clear in the casters mind, before trying to summon.
This spell is one of the oldest spells known to wizarding society
Banishing Charm :is the counter-charm to the Summoning Charm. As Accio summons objects to the caster, Depulso sends both objects and living things away from the caster.[3] Unlike the Summoning Charm, which can summon specific objects from anywhere, the Banishing Charm banishes whatever the wand is aimed at.
Fire-Making Spell : also known as the Fire-Making Charm (Incendio) is a charm and a form of Conjuration, that can be used to conjure a jet of orange and red flame. Thereby this spell can be used to set things alight
Water-Making Spell : "The Water-Making Spell conjures clean, drinkable water from the end of the wand." The Water-Making Spell, also known as the Aguamenti Spell (Aguamenti) is a charm that conjures a jet of clear, pure water and shoots it from the tip of the caster's wand.

CHAPTERS 1-8
1. LILAC GIRLS IS MARTHA HALL KELLY'S DEBUT NOVEL TELLING THE TALE OF THREE WOMEN CAUGHT UP IN THE HORROR THAT WAS WWII. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE TITLE?
I'm not sure. There was a brief reference to the fragrance by Caroline, talking about her mother's perfume, but I doubt that is it.
2. IN THE FIRST THREE CHAPTERS, WE ARE SEPARATELY INTRODUCED TO OUR THREE HEROINES, CAROLINE, KASIA AND HERTA. WHAT ARE YOUR FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THE GIRLS AND THE PLACES AND TIMES THEY LIVE IN?
They are all so different, it's hard to understand how their stories will ultimately intersect, other than they are all affected by the war. Obviously Kasia and Herta have it the hardest, being in Germany and Poland.
3. WHY DO YOU THINK THE AUTHOR HAS BEGUN THE NOVEL IN THREE DIFFERENT PLACES INSTEAD OF ALTERNATE POINTS OF VIEW WITHIN THE SAME CHAPTER?
She is weaving a story - as I mentioned above, it's hard to understand how these three will come together, but that is the magic of a good storyteller.
4. DO YOU THINK PIETRIK HAS ROMANTIC FEELINGS FOR KASIA AND WHAT DO YOU IMAGINE HAS HAPPENED TO NADIA AND HER MOTHER?
No, I think Pietrik is using Kasia, knowing that she likes him.
5. DESPITE HERTA'S POLITICAL BELIEFS DO YOU FEEL ANY SYMPATHY FOR HER IN HER SITUATION WITH HEINZ?
Yes. She is in the situation many young women find themselves in and she has learned to deal with it as best she can.
6. PAUL SEEMS TO BE THE EPITOME OF THE SAUVE, URBANE FRENCHMAN. DO YOU SEE ANY FUTURE FOR HIM AND CAROLINE?
I am hoping they end up together, but I think he may just find Caroline a distraction.
7 ALREADY I AM FINDING MY EMOTIONS ENGAGED BY THIS NOVEL. SADNESS, ANGER, INDIGNATION AND HORROR FOR WHAT I KNOW IS TO COME. HOW IS THIS BOOK AFFECTING YOU SO FAR?
So far I am finding this book very depressing. This is not an easy or light book to read.

My impression is that the school invited the students, not that the students were applying. So somehow the kids came to the attention of Hogwarts, whether it was through their families or some other way, and then they got the invite if the school wanted them.

Wouldn't it be great to have a chess board and pieces like that? I don't know how to play, so having the pieces telling me what to do would be amazing!
