To follow Shelby's example, for the rest of October I have:
2 - 2nd in series
1 - 4th in series
1 - 8th in series
1 - 9th in series

I'm curious to find out the quest/monster cards we will get for our team.
With the solo NRPG I remember wanting to confront the monsters as soon as possible to gain experience points asap but I struggled through it (weapon level too low). Ideally you would be able to finish off the monster in one move. Potions are useful during battles.
I'm currently reading a book that is 2nd in the series.

A charmingly gothic, fiendishly funny Faustian tale about a brilliant scientist who makes a deal with the Devil, twice.
Johannes Cabal sold his soul years ago in order to learn the laws of necromancy. Now he wants it back. Amused and slightly bored, Satan proposes a little wager: Johannes has to persuade one hundred people to sign over their souls or he will be damned forever. This time for real. Accepting the bargain, Jonathan is given one calendar year and a traveling carnival to complete his task. With little time to waste, Johannes raises a motley crew from the dead and enlists his brother, Horst, a charismatic vampire to help him run his nefarious road show, resulting in mayhem at every turn.

New york, 1895. Sylvan Threadgill, a night-soiler cleaning out the privies behind the tenement houses, finds an abandoned newborn baby in the muck. An orphan himself, Sylvan rescues the child, determined to find where she belongs.
Odile Church and her beautiful sister, Belle, were raised amid the applause and magical pageantry of the Church of Marvels, their mother's spectacular Coney Island sideshow. But the Church has burnt to the ground, their mother dead in its ashes. Now Belle, the family's star, has vanished into the bowels of Manhattan, leaving Odile alone and desperate to find her.
A young woman named Alphie awakens to find herself trapped across the river in Blackwell's Lunatic Asylum–sure that her imprisonment is a ruse by her husband's vile, overbearing mother. On the ward she meets another young woman of ethereal beauty who does not speak, a girl with an extraordinary talent that might save them both.
As these strangers' lives become increasingly connected, their stories and secrets unfold. Moving from the Coney Island seashore to the tenement-studded streets of the Lower East Side, a spectacular human circus to a brutal, terrifying asylum, Church of Marvels takes readers back to turn-of-the-century New York–a city of hardship and dreams, love and loneliness, hope and danger. In magnetic, luminous prose, Leslie Parry offers a richly atmospheric vision of the past in a narrative of astonishing beauty, full of wondrous enchantments, a marvelous debut that will leave readers breathless.

Bonus - Task: Cauterize the wounds: Read a book with fire or flames on the cover

I will close the month with my two current reads:

If the task 'Read a book with fire or flames on the cover' is still open, Magic Binds will work. There are candles and flames on the cover.

Btw team, in case you missed it, the mods posted an update regarding our bonuses: HERE

Wanted to check on our bonuses. Doing great Mammoths :) I'm going back to read a bit more. Good night

Agreed, I like this challenge and this team. Additionally I've been reading great books :)
I will read Magic Binds next since I can't wait any longer. But first, I'm off to bed now.
Take good care of you, Jennifer.

How it works: The MC's are traders/merchants/pirates looking for a rare artefact (Cybele's gift). They are competing against each other for that particular ancient treasure

Will post my thoughts here. Curious to read others opinions about this series. I hope we get to read more about Derek, Ascanio, Hugh and my personal favourite Desandra. I'm wondering if I'm forgetting someone

Berit, I'm currently reading Dead Heat if that helps? Or is 'heat' too difficult to link?

I agree with the rest of the team regarding their feedback on Wobble. Personally I like team challenges and especially longer ones (like Tower Teams) because it motivates me to read and try to reduce the TBR pile ;) Longer challenges also allow me to contribute as much as I can (even if I have one week off for example).

Currently working my way through some historical romances I've bought a couple of months ago. I can't recommend the one I just read though.
I can help with our 3rd bonus: I'm reading Ashes in the Wind - Title starts with A
