35559 I read chapter 1. I'll read more tonight. I have some ideas but I think it will be way more to it than what I've 'figured out'.
35559 Jenny, I am not sure about the Mercies right now. I really liked it in the beginning. Having a harder time now. I know I'm not going to 'like' the witch hunting part but I am waiting to see how it comes together. I read a lot yesterday but still have a bit more to go.
35559 I'm not finished with my second read, but that is ok. I did like this one although it is different. I still love Trey.

I have Migrations now. I need to finish the Mercies but will be done today or tomorrow. I'll be slower since its an actual book and not an audio book, so I'm glad it is a buddy read. I do need to get back to reading books more and not just listening.
35559 Jenny, let me know when you write your book. You have quite the imagination. It sounds like it would be crazy and fun.
35559 This is fun. The best is when I can't quite remember. Like for the daughter I remember a lot but can't quite remember it all. I feel like I am missing something. But I won't go further on that since I am trying really hard not to ruin it for you! I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of some of the revelations when they come out.

With Cal and his family, it is clear that there is a rift. He always seemed like a good guy and I've known men like him who put the job first. I won't say more than that but you definitely get parts of it there.
35559 Jenny, yes. I think Lena is correct. She is a fantastic character.
35559 I am listening. The author is great, and a perfect choice for this book but Cal is from America (Chicago I believe) and so the accents only come in when the other characters speak. Beautiful but not the same as when he does the entire book in that beautiful accent.

It is a slow start, and it definitely isn't the same pace as some of the others, but it is about more than the ewe deaths. I really like some of the characters in this one. Trey is great and there is another character that has been mentioned but hasn't shown up yet that is fantastic, too. Can't remember her name right now.
35559 I haven't started yet, will soon. I'm not worried though since I've already read it.

My copy of Migrations is in transit so I should be able to start once we are done with this one.
35559 I put a hold on Migrations a few days ago. I'm #2 in line and there are 4 copies due in the next week. There will be delays for transit and COVID related waits but hopefully soon. If it doesn't come in I will buy a copy. It does sound good.
35559 December 8th works. I've never heard of Migrations either. I agree, it looks interesting and the ratings are great.
35559 It was good. I'm not sure I like it as much as some of the others, but it is also a very different perspective. The only downside to it is that the main character is American so no lovely Irish accent reading to me in my audiobook.
35559 I'd read The Searcher again. Well, listen. I bought the audiobook and listened right after it came out. I love Tana French and am always happy to reread.
35559 Hello! Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Hope you are well. It looks like you are both busy with your many reading challenges. I will definitely be doing more in the future. I'm always up for another buddy read if you find time.
35559 Nusha, not sure how I missed your post! How are you liking it, or are you finished?
35559 I made it to chapter twelve. It definitely gives a nod to the Breakfast Club. At first I thought it reminded me of the movie updated and given a horrorish twist, but then they actually reference 'the brain, jock, princess, and the criminal'. Not sure how I feel as that is just such a classic.

Any thoughts on why (view spoiler)
35559 Ok, I’ll start tonight
35559 Glad to have you join us! I’m happy as long as you don’t give away any spoilers.
