"Definitely brown enough.
Unless everybody else thinks I need to get my eyes checked, like with that Backroom BOM a while ago ;D
Hey team, what do we think of this book as Brown cover?
I dunno. I think it's just borderline Brown enough maybe?
ETA: if we can't get consensus we could ask Team Wrath to help us decide. :D

Who else just looked at the winners of this year's Goodreads Choice Awards and was completely unsurprised? o_O
M wrote: "Finished my first book (SIN bingo) and I should finish my second one by later tonight. This December I will live, breathe, and bleed space opera books"If you’re looking for an extra one, I read Velocity Weapon for Space Opera during the last Wheelathon and quite loved it! 🙂
Today I ran into a former teacher of my daughter’s who left the school a couple years ago. She and my daughter used to bond over the latter’s love of 1980s movies, and I mentioned various ones that she has recently watched, and that I’ve been trying to decide whether she’s old enough to watch Amadeus. The teacher said that when she was a kid, her parents were friends with Tom Hulce, and he actually built her dollhouse.
Tom Hulce is THIS ACTOR:

Needless to say, I was extremely amused!
Me, I need to start reading my eARCS again. I have read almost none of them in months at this point. It is terrible. On the bright side, I've read a ton of library books! Yay library books :D
[[ Frankie ]] wrote: "Definitely gonna try to get the Ira sin bingo book done for this week! Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet."Sounds good, Frankie!
I just got back from the Big Apple Circus with my family. We’ve been going every December for a few years; it’s super fun.
I went to read some more of my non-fic ARC book that is expiring... and the darn thing already expired! I thought I had until the 18th but apparently it was the 8th. *grumble*
On the bright side, I had not spent very much time on it, and it was going to be a relatively large amount of reading time for not very many pages because Dense Academic Text.
So, probably for the best. Will start Skyward tonight instead :D
Joanne wrote: "I agree if we're that close, we should try to go for most points.Just finishing my last book for the week."
And it's the BOM! Go Joanne :D
Yeah, we are now 22 books behind the top team on the Vanity (sin alignment) prize, only 15 of which we would be able to make back by changing this week, so I think sticking to the higher point values is the better decision.
As of this moment we're only 682 points behind Lust -- which, even if we don't end up winning, is pretty amazing considering they've managed to read like 40 more books that we have. That is basically an entire week's worth of books!
And with only one week to go (and no idea what their plans are) I think the win could still go either way! :D
Rebecca wrote: "Also, I’m confused about the “time travel” comment on the ss. Could someone please explain? I read back through the comments but didn’t see anything..."PMd you w more details :)
Hi Team!Ozana PMd me and updated her shelf with 4 finished books, and we've still got our unfinished ones coming....
We don't know how many more books Lust might still have coming too, but so far it looks like we're making very good headway into closing the gap.
So I think we should keep our sin assignments as-is, for maximum point value.
For Week 10, let's also try to go for maximum point value as usual:
Long Books
BOMs
Sin Bingo / Mini-Challenge
Color Cover
Top Shelf
Sin Spec (mainly Wrath)
But if we can manage to cover Wrath with all that, that's even better!
I just got a library book over 500 pages that's from the Mini-Challenge list and is also a Space Opera for Wrath. I've got a hold on another that's Brown. *fingers crossed*
My last comment notwithstanding, would y’all like to chime in with opinions on what we should do -Maximize overall point value, or assign as many books as possible to Wrath?
There are plenty of books where we can do BOTH at the same time, lol, but as I mentioned, for the other books it’s a difference of 40something points.
ETA: If you wanna go with Wrath, please don’t change current sin assignments in the planning sheet, just put your Wrath sin specification in the Alternate Justification column, thanks!
And personally, I would like to go with maximizing point value (with a difference of about 1k, anything can happen in week 10, not to mention the next few hours!) 😁

Sorry for a..."Hi Mari! Don’t worry, it hasn’t started yet. This one starts on 16 December. People are volunteering to write daily Discussion Questions (DQs) but you don’t have to do that, just answer them once they get posted, or participate in the discussion in whatever way you want. 🙂
M wrote: "Quick question for next week. Should I stick to Space Operas or doa couple for the mini challenge?"Totally up to you.
FWIW, if we switch everything to Wrath for this week we’ll be leaving like 40 points on the table, but we’re behind Lust by well over 1k anyway and unlikely to make up the difference. We have a slightly better shot at the Sin Alignment category but even that is far from guaranteed now that a couple other teams are going for it.
So I think we’re in a “Read for fun and try not to lose to Lust by tooooo many points” situation...
