I added the new wheel to the spreadsheet and updated the Fun Stats tab as well.

TBR's don't follow the normal rules of math. We may never truly understand their math, but simply admire it. :p

Ooh! A Discworld one! Which reminds me that I still have some (many) of those to read

I started this year with 1,105 on my TBR. I've read 38 from it and deleted another 31. It's currently sitting at 1,059. Which means I haven't added too many new books.
I haven't read much from my TBR lately because of team challenges but hopefully that will change soon.

Thank you Sammy! I'll look into those when I next go on my laptop

While both of those sound interesting to me, I think they might be too much fantasy for him. I'll ask him what he thinks though. Thank you for the suggestions!

Hi all,
I have been asked to find my Stepdad a couple of books he can take on holiday to read. The problem is that he doesn't really know what he wants to read.
I am going to get him
Project Hail Mary which is one I have read as I know he enjoys films about space/aliens so I thought he might like it.
Anyone know of any books similar? Other topics of interest include War (specifically WW1 or WW2), Cars (older cars as opposed to new cars), Mental Asylums (probably not horror though, more historical fiction).
He's in his mid 60's so any books that you can think of that someone in that age group might like. As I said, I've been given very little to go on. Definitely looking for fiction. I would say safe genres are Historical Fiction, Sci-Fi, Mystery, possibly Paranormal.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Some of those tasks in Protomolecule look hard!

Ah, that explains why I couldn't find it!

Can someone guide me to where I can find info about Turf Wars? I'm curious and might consider joining.

Great work team! I read a lot more than I normally would, even for a team challenge. Many of those books I wouldn't have read if it wasn't for the challenge.
Special thank you Laura for being a fabulous captain and for fellow co-captain Yasmine for helping me help make Laura's job a little easier.
I hope to see you all in future challenges!

Ent is no more! Up next is Tipua

Getting back home from seeing my friend took a lot longer than planned because of traffic! I did hope to squeeze in another book tonight, but I am way too tired. So I have finished my last book for this challenge!

I finished A Clash Of Kings today. It has a yellow cover. I've put it as a spell-it-out letter, but it can be a back up just in case.

Also, I'm sure there will be another challenge similar to this next year. They seem to mix it up a bit for the challenge that runs at the time of year this one was, but there does always seem to be a team challenge.
There is usually a Tower Teams towards the end of the year. And then there is always UNO over in the Perks group which begins in February (I think) and then that is usually followed by a Wheel-a-thon.
We don't normally have to wait long for a team challenge as they seem to be very popular.

The challenge ends on the 15th. There is a countdown on the spreadsheet for the exact time. But it ends in just over 1 day and 21 hours from now.

You guys are making me feel much better about my over 1,000 book TBR!

As some of you have mentioned it happening to yourselves, Battle Games has almost put a hold on me getting anything read from my TBR. My TBR has even gone up again as I acquired some new books on my Kindle. But I can still get that number down again! I have at least 8 short books I want to get through (less than 100 pages so no good for team challenges).
I wanted to end the year with a TBR under 1,000, but with it currently sitting at 1,054 it is looking unlikely. But not impossible.

I will be finishing A Clash of Kings in the next few days (before Battle Games ends) which will get us a new monster. I won't have a team challenge for a little bit so I will be able to help with tasks and hopefully get some books off my TBR too!

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to be much help from now on. I am going to visit a friend tomorrow and will be back sometime on Wednesday. I will finish what I have on the spreadsheet, but I don't expect to get much reading done during my visit.
