35559 Thanks, Christina!

35559 BTW, my new moose book is hilarious. It's like Bill Bryson goes to Canada. I'm so glad I switched!

(I just got an alert from the library for a book I've been waiting for that coincidentally has a moose on the cover, too. I took this task because I thought it would be hard!)

35559 Wow, that's fast! I start out at 1.25 or 1.3 and then I speed it up as I get used to the narration so it never sounds fast to me. I don't usually get above 1.5 though. I do speed through some things like sex scenes that are boring and then going down to 1.7 seems normal.

For me, I find if it's too fast, I don't really enjoy it. It becomes about finishing the book rather than enjoying the reading of it. But I can certainly understand why people do speed through, especially with concentration issues. I have those, too, which is why I can't read right now.

35559 lol! I just found another one I'm going to try. It sounds good but it only has a 3.33 rating. We'll see. I hate abandoning a book with this much read but I don't know if I can handle another nine hours. I might have to speed it up to 1.5. :)

35559 I'm trying to read a book with a moose on the cover but it is so boring. It's supposed to be a political thriller but so far, 2.5 hours in, just each candidate talking about running for president and what they'll do. The reader is awful, too. He voice is often wooden and pronounces things wrong and emphasizes the wrong words. Like someone said, "come again?" in surprise and he said it like, "sounds good." At least its got strong women and minorities.

Feel sorry for me? 🤣
Even better, find a better moose book? :)

35559 Hi Kat! Glad to have you!

35559 Okay, cool. Got it.

35559 Parmigiano Reggiano came up in conversation yesterday. I was able to talk intelligently about it like I'd had it tons of times before. ;)

35559 Erin, can you check the edition of My Friends you have on you shelf? It says 436 but your post here is 456. Thanks!

35559 Thank you Cindy! And we're now done with India! Our other tour guides will be along soon to check our visas and stamp our passports and tell us where we're going to next. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the view up in Banff. Anyone want to site-see with me? I'm very familiar with a rest stop up here where I slept one time because there was no room at the inn. It was August but the night was VERY cold.

35559 Thanks!

35559 Yes, thank you folks!

Erin, could you change the edition of Dark Earth on your shelf to https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6..., the ebook that has the correct number of pages? If you read the paperback, you can keep the link and change the spreadsheet to the higher number of pages.

Heli, did you read Dead Man's Grave on the 3rd or 4th? The spreadsheet and your shelves don't match.

35559 Cindy, did you find a spirituality book? If not, I finally came across one I can read. I'm a little worried about my concentration, but will happily read it if I need to as I do have access to it as an audiobook.

Please let me know. Thanks!

35559 We're still stuck on author born in France. I did some searching but I can't find anything. If anyone can come up with a mystery (preferably cozy) or an urban fantasy or something really funny written by someone born in France and I can find it on audio, I'll read it. I don't mind paying for it. I just don't have the concentration for anything deep.

35559 Yeah, some of our states are the size of or bigger than some countries.
Jul 02, 2025 05:20AM

35559 When talking about home state/country, I take that to mean you can't use the US, you have to use your state, right?
Jul 01, 2025 03:04PM

35559 Erin, yes you did. It's line 231. You can always do a search in the spreadsheet to find things. But I don't mind doing it for you. Thanks for checking!

Thank you Cindy!

35559 We're almost done with India! We just need a book with MPG spirituality. I managed "Cow" and "Written by an author born in India" but I'm weighed down by books I have to read for other challenges.

Can people try to find something that would fit? Maybe someone who isn't reading a lot who's looking for something good?

**I can help if you tell me what you are interested in. For example, if you are interested in a book on the spirituality of dogs, I have several for you.**

Here's a list of what people deem The Best Spiritual Books

And here's a list of lists. So if you're looking for a specific type of spiritual book, look here. For example, there's one for spiritual mysteries (although none of them have the tag MPG spiritual)!

Oops, sorry. I fixed it and made sure all of the other books I read in the last few weeks are marked. They were. Whew!
