35559 We have a few changes that need to be made so I'm just going to make a list, I hope that's okay with you folks.

Jax: Rebel of the Sands, need to match edition on shelf to the number of pages on spreadsheet

Erin: A Curse Carved in Bone, needs to be added to shelf

Gemma: Rock Paper Scissors, needs to be added to shelf

Thank you all so much!

35559 BTW all, Christina did that within two hours of the cheese being posted. I'm impressed. Thanks Christina!

35559 Hi Gemma, could you put Rock Paper Scissors on your Tower shelf please? Thanks!

35559 Frida, books have to be over 100 pages for this challenge so you can't use The Most Dammed Country in the World, I'm afraid as it only has 89 pages. Sorry about that.

Would you please remove it from the spreadsheet? Thanks!

35559 I forget about that way of looking things up.

Wait, neither of those is 11 books and the first on one of them, Anne Frank, doesn't appear to be labeled journal at all. At least not by more than two people at a time. I didn't get that far.

35559 Mini 2, #82 is going to be nearly impossible. Even The Diary of Anne Frank doesn't have a single tag of "journal" in the MPG or first 3 pages of additional tags. Not one!

35559 Brittany, would you put Love, Holly, on your shelf please? Thanks!

35559 Today, go for it:

This was the countdown. I'm guessing it will be used for the end of the game, too.

35559 It's a lot like Seattle in that it has that rep but not nearly as much rain as people think. According to Google, London's average rainfall is only 690mm (27.2 inches) per year with only 106 rainy days. Seattle's is 38 inches with 150 rainy days a year. Compare that with places like Atlanta, 50 inches and 118 wet days a year or Miami, 61.9 inches and 132 rainy days.

It's just that ours drizzles a lot and theirs pours in bursts. The latter is why they're seeing so much flooding in other regions. The rivers can't handle all the water.

It's also in perception, one that Seattle at least perpetuates to stop the city from growing. (There's a T-Shirt sold that says "Seattle: Rainy Season Oct 1-Sep30") Seattle is overcast 2/3rds of the year for a good portion of the day which doesn't help. London doesn't have all the fog attributed to them, either.

I'll shut up now.

35559 Yay! Other than the long spell out, this should be a little easier, especially for that apparently dreaded "author born in" category.

For Royal Character, I highly recommend Red, White & Royal Blue, a mainstream gay romance. They even made it into a movie, but I'm told the book is way better. It actually works for several categories.

I've had to read an umbrella on cover for a challenge currently going on and it is way harder than you'd think. But the one I read took place in the UK which is a funny coincidence.

35559 No problem Erin, thanks!

Thanks, Kat!

35559 Hey, Erin, could you put A Song of Legends Lost on your Towers shelf please?
Hi, Jax, would you put Just Mercy on your shelves please?

Thanks!

Oh good. I finished the book and it's posted. We just have one more book to finish Italy. Now I can pay attention to other challenges for a couple of days. :)

35559 If you're talking about Mini2, I agree that I'd love it to be done but they're also not books I tend to read. I'll try to knock one out this next round. I'm at my book limit this round.

35559 I was thinking that the stuff falling off the table was pasta, but I see you're right. It's okay, I found another one and I'm almost done with it.

Edit: Jax, if you finish first, go ahead and remove me.

35559 Do you folks think this enough pasta to count as pasta on the cover?

35559 Jax, thanks for fixing that. I'm going to let the other captains answer your question.

kat, your name is there now.

Could you remove the books from your shelf that were read before July 7th since they can't be used?

Also, when choosing a mini task, make sure no one else has taken it already. Only one person can get credit for a task. I moved your mini task to mini 4 part 2. If it qualifies for something else, feel free to move it again.

35559 There's a book, Broken Souls, with no name next to it. I didn't see it on anyone's shelf including both our new and gone players. Whoever it was, could you let me know? Would you please add it to your Tower shelf?

Jax, you didn't put the number of pages for Gone for Gouda. You have the same link from your shelf and the spreadsheet so I used the page number from that link. Would you mind checking and making sure that's the right one? Thanks!

35559 Heli, I see you're reading 10 Things That Never Happened. I loved that book. I liked the reader of the audio version so much that I did searches on GR and at the library to find more books he narrated.

35559 Hi, Kat, that's great! We can really use books in the harder countries for our itinerary and a couple for the countries we are visiting. But take a look and see what works for you.
