Some of those challenges have fairly tragic outcomes, yes.
But as far as brainwashing the masses, I guess we could say that about any social media platform? Not to mention FOX News.

That's a good way to think of it--in any field of endeavor. Except possibly medicine? ;-D
https://selfpublishingadvice.org/alli...Jordan, I thought you'd find the discussion on libraries and lending especially interesting.

It's a weird default although I sort of understand their logic -- it's the reasoning of people who don't regularly interact on the platform.

The graph is a little confusing. It's pretty clear the extremes throw off the average numbers. Somewhere between that 12K and 80K is a more likely figure. Still, the trend is encouraging.
I find my Amazon earnings have declined a bit through the years but my overall earnings have stayed steady through translations, additional platforms, audio, Patreon, etc.
Also, though I saw a significant bump last year, I put more books out, so there's a direct correllation.

Well, that was a grim note to end on. :-D It is GORGEOUS spring weather right now. Everything is starting to bloom, it's warm enough to swim (although the weather is supposed to plummet next week) and I can just about taste summer.
Things I Love...1 - Tulips
2 - Gardening with my nephews
3 - A warm-enough spell for swimming this week!
4 - The Mandelorian
5 - Schemes, Dreams, and Flying Machines (i.e., working on a new book)

The problem is facism, authoritarianism are, at their root, all about wealth and power, and these things present eternal temptation to a certain percentage of people.

How totally weird. I just turned on ID Go and it's Road to Nowhere, the Maura Murray case. The very show that got me interested in that case!
