DATELINE.This has become an evening ritual for me and the SO. It's a sad statement that watching people murder each other seems less frightening now days than the lurking pandemic.

What the heck is happening with your blenders!!?? LOL What are those fiends doing with the jars?
Love is a funny thing. You find it when you aren't looking for it and you lose it when you've become comfortable with it.Love's Last Chance, Krandall Kraus
(I'm not sure if I actually ever read this or not--the SO has been bringing me boxes of books from storage, and I found this.)

1 - Walking with my sisters yesterday. Obviously we're wearing masks, preserving social distancing, and know the other two have been in isolation for the past month. It was so great to be together for a few hours.2 - Taking a mental health month. It's been very weird not having any looming deadlines for WEEKS, but my stress level has slowly, steadily been dropping.
(Of course, when time comes to pay my bills, it will skyrocket again, but one thing at a time. :-D )
3 - Merry-Go-Round horses
4 - Sorting, organizing, discarding... Life's underrated pleasures. Also hugely needed given that I was eating freshly-made chicken salad yesterday, thought it tasted a bit off, checked the mayonnaise jar, and saw it was OVER A YEAR OUT OF DATE.
5 - The little elf doors we just hung on trees in the front yard. :-D

I do absolutely agree that racism plays a role, but class warfare is the bigger driver globally.
Just a quick note that Smashwords big 60% sale ends on the 31st of this month. https://www.smashwords.com/shelves/pr...
Most of my self-published stuff (which is most of my backlist now) is up for 60% off.
ALSO Secret at Skull House goes into Kindle Unlimited at the end of this weekend, so if you don't buy through Amazon, this is your five-minute warning.

It's the old Be Careful What You Wish For.

That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen!
I think what is disturbing is the inescapable understanding that for a certain portion of the earth's population, other people--especially people of color...or, no, it's probably as much about class as color--are expendable. That the economy really IS more important than all these people. After all, there is a never-ending supply of poor people, while one's financial well-being is much more fragile and finite.
And the ridiculous part is so many of the ignoramuses who buy into that scenario--the people getting out there with their maga hats and automatic weapons, the folks who aspire to the moneyed class--don't get that *they* are every bit as expendable to their financial masters.
But then the puppet never sees the strings moving overhead.
Finally catching up on a STUFFED in-box. I'm hoping this is a sign my attention span is steadying again.

Perfect. I went today to get those first chapters and saw they were missing. Happily I didn't delete all the rest of them as I started to do! :-D

It goes against the Superwoman model, doesn't it?
But yes, these last few weeks have been filled with reflection and realizations. My default is work, but that's partly because work is comfortable and a good way to avoid thinking about uncomfortable things. Like what I want out of the rest of my life.
