The thanks is all for Val. I had the first one too. And when I grabbed #3 and #4 I just thought to check if maybe the #2 is also free.
I think now I should definitely read this series. Everyone say it's great.

33903 Yeah I sent a message to Steph a while ago and she never responded. Since she is always quick to respond I thought it was some rule...

I hope everything is OK with Skandia. And that she will be there for the next challenge. I know I will be.

33903 Week 9: Series To Start
Worth the Fall (The McKinney Brothers, #1) by Claudia Connor
Book: Worth the Fall (The McKinney Brothers, #1)
Date read: 25. May 2016.
Rating: 3.5 stars

The McKinney Brothers series popped up on one of the random lists at RRRC group and Ezi recommended it. Since I loved Undecided (another rec by Ezi), I decided to see if Worth the Fall was worth the reading.

LIKES:
Mature characters. Reading about high school or college romance problems is getting boring. It was refreshing to read about 30-something characters, like me.
MC is a mom. Abby, the heroine has 4 kids and 5th on the way. She was refreshing and different from usual main characters in contemporary romance novels, because she had mom-problems I could understand.
Cute kids. Nothing adds to the cuteness of the story as kids antics. Especially if they are not yours and you are just reading about it.
Slow-building romance. Since the kids are always present, at first, the romance goes slow with looks and discreet touches. I loved it! I was disappointed when the usual erotic sex-fest started.

DISLIKES:
Too much sex in the second half of the book. It sullied the impression of mature characters and slow-building sizzling chemistry from the beginning. They used every free, however unsuitable moment, for another round.
Pregnant mother of 4 = magnet for men. This is not a dislike, more something I found highly unbelievable. Older single bachelors are usually afraid of commitment and watching a couple of them showing interest in Abby and her cute but huge baggage was unlikely.

Worth the Fall had some shaky aspects of the story, but in general it was a sweet love story sprinkled with cute kids. It's worth reading because it offers something different from the usual cliched contemporary romances.
