33903 Week 5: Urban Fantasy
Archangel's Consort (Guild Hunter, #3) by Nalini Singh
Book: Archangel's Consort by Nalini Singh
Date read: 24. Apr. 2016.
Rating: 3.5 stars

When I find strong, kick-ass heroine I like, I stick to that series like octopus to his favorite plush toy.

Likes:
+ Relationship between Elena and Raphael grows stronger. I like how it is developing, how they don't lie to each other, work together.
+ Married (ok more like serious relationship) couple and they are going strong trough the whole book. Rare for the uf.
+ Elena's attitude toward bossy Raphael always makes me smile.
You will do as I say.
Yeah, how's that working for you so far?

Dislikes:
- Some big lose ends from previous book are still not resolved. :/
- More sedate and less action then in previous books.

I'm not sure if it's overload because I read three books very quickly one after another, or this book was really 'less' addicting then the previous ones. I'll have to make a small break and see. But I am definitely coming back for more.

33903 Yay another stamp! :)

Definitely a long wait for the next one Cheri. I just hope it does come out in 2017.

My family (and me of course lol) is going on a trip for this weekend. Well, extended weekend. I'm not sure if I will have wi-fi connection or not, so don't worry if I am quiet.
I'll try to post my review for uf book today and my pick tomorrow.

33903 Fate Book (Fate Book Series, #1) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is very good contemporary romantic suspense novel. Recommended. ;)

33903 Ilona Andrews is my favorite urban fantasy author. I think I already re-read Burn for Me at least twice. :)
The only fault Burn for Me has is that sequel is constantly delayed. Now the publication date is May 2017! :(

Skandia, I also gave up on Charlie after book #2. But I am thinking about giving it another chance. As you said it, everyone says it gets better.

For urban fantasy shelf I am currently undecided. Maybe Archangel's Consort (Guild Hunter, #3) by Nalini Singh ...

33903 Haha I felt the same. Finnaly Kate & Curran. It got even better when they together, at least for me.
One of the things I like about KD series is interesting mythological background of monsters (just proof that you can't please everyone lol).

33903 Week 4: Strong Heroine
Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh
Book: Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh
Date read: 16. Apr. 2016.
Rating: 4.5 stars

Likes:
+ Strong, kick-ass heroine.
+ Slow-building romance with sizzling chemistry. Sometimes they do not even touch, but the scenes are nevertheless one of the most sexually potent I have ever read.
+ Vampires are one of the most used paranormal creatures. Nalini Singh managed to keep their basic characteristics, while giving them completely different lore and background. I am intrigued to find out more.
+ Angels can have wings of any color (even blue!).
+ Surprising ending.

Dislikes:
- There were small parts from villain's POV. Completely unnecessary IMHO.
- Some scenes were very bloody and a bit gross.

Angels' Blood came as a recommendation from a friend, as a book that she lost count how many times she re-read. I can definitely agree with her. I see myself skimming and reading favorite scenes between Elena and Raphael on rainy days...
Recommended if you like your pnr kick-ass and with wings. ;)

33903 Congrats Darlings!
We had luck with shelves so far. They were all interesting to read and nicely aligned on our card as well. :)

I loved the first book. Definitely re-reading material. I'm reading the second one now. :)

33903 Week 3: Guilty Pleasures
Entreat Me by Grace Draven
Book: Entreat Me by Grace Draven
Date read: 11. Apr. 2016.
Rating: 4 stars

Likes:
+ 'Beauty and the beast' is one of my favorite fairy tales. Grace Draven did a great retelling, changing enough to keep it interesting, but keeping all the important pieces.
+ Louvaen is a widow. She loved her first husband and has fond memories of him. It was so refreshing. The cliche of a bad first marriage and tortured young widow is used too often.
+ Mouthy, headstrong heroine that gives as good (or more) than she gets.
+ Another wonderful love story where love triumphs over physical appearance. Radiance was better, but Entreat Me was very good too.
+ Verbal battles.
Upon her return from Monteblanco, she'd thanked him for not bespelling her off the cliff.
"Keep your thanks." he told her. "And an eye on your ale. I'm brewing something that turns shrews into toads."
"While you're at it, brew something that bestows courtesy and swallow a cup or two yourself," she shot back.

Dislikes:
- I wish the world was developed more. We get only bare essentials, enough for the story to progress.
- Second couple (Louvaen's sister) left me cold and uninterested. I feel like they should have engaged me more, since they are important part of the plot/story.

As always I could not stop myself from comparing this book to Radiance, but this time Entreat Me held it's own. If you like romances that develop story with mouthy heroines , check it out.

33903 Awesome shelf!
Cheri and Skandia - you picked two of my favorite series. Now I have a wish to re-read them. :)
I'm going to read Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh . A friend keeps urging me to try it. She re-reads the whole series whenever new books is published (that's how much she adores it).

33903 Great reviews Cheri & Skanida.
I haven't read either of these series. I watched the movies though. Something Borrowed, it sounds, was similar to the book. And I loved Stephanie Plum. I really should try reading them.

I finished reading my book, but I had a lot of things to do these days, and since we are not competing for a winning position I am not rushing the review. Hopefully tomorrow I will do it.

33903 I plan to buy crock-pot and and just stumbled into this small recipe book. I am hoping since author is from Bulgaria (country bordering Serbia) that the recipes will be more up to my taste.
Anyway it's free so I thought why not share. :)

I've read the book after watching the movie, but now I can't remember if it's different. :? I know I liked them both (based on rating). And that time jumps are much easier to keep track off in the movie since you see how they look...

33903 I'm going to read Entreat Me by Grace Draven for 'Guilty pleasures' shelf.
