((that sounds funny.)) but the sling wasn't aimed for her. It aimed for what she held. Before Derey could react the sling was thrown and it hit home. The Black Opal went flying and before anyone else could move the darkened figure had grabbed it and started to run.

Ni hao ma! ((sorry can't exactly do characters on my computer ))
the sling started going faster and faster until it made a highpitched whiring sound. As Ethan and Derey argued they became aware of it but because the noise was spread so thin it was impossible to place the location.

In complete silence the person raised their arm and started to swing a sling-like device, slowly getting faster and faster.

As Derey and Ethan landed in the they failed to notice a strange figure behind them.

Taylor woke next to Danny. They'd fallen into a hole. She stood up and tried to climb the side. She slid down. Up above them she could hear the sharp shreik of the wind. She went back to Danny and the bird. "Hey Danny. Wake up."

((Everybody say what happened to you. Something interesting is coming up.))

Taylor's fear was realized the moment it came into her head. The volcano exploded throwing everything into chaos. The last thing Taylor saw was black sky before her bird spiraled and her vision followed suit.

The skies cleared some but the continuous rain of ash made it hard to keep constantly clear. Taylor was worried. The way things were going they might still be close the the volcano when it really erupted. It was dangerous at best, lethal at worst. Taylor coughed, clenching her teeth and tasting burn. It was getting harder to breathe.

The sky was almost pitch black as they flew through the clouds of ash. Even with the clothes it felt like breathing coal and it only got darker as they flew on.

Taylor tore off a piece of her sleeve and used it. She handed the one she'd gotten from Danny to Ethan. The blood rushed to her head now that she was out of free fall and as the adrenaline left she felt very, very tired. Am I suicidal? She asked herself as she thought about what she'd done. She shook her head, "No. Just extreme." she muttered.

((what's happened for Ethan. People were bored so Taylor decided to try to do a nose dive for the adrenaline it would give her. Which in succession would speed up the rate of the recovery of her muscles. Just as she pulled this crazy stunt a volcano erupted and now the sky is filled with ash. Which by the way people(just for details) will make it hard to see in the sky. ))

By the time Danny reached her Taylor could feel the adrenaline rushing through her like a bad fever. She grinned, it felt GREAT! Slowly as she fell she unclenched her fists and moved her fingers. What a beautiful feeling it is, she thought, to be able to move, to have your muscles react with just a thought.
She flipped herself, midair, so she faced upwards and caught sight of Danny. She reached for him.

At the same moment there was an eruption from the mountains. Slow at first it was almost unnoticeable but then it came into full fury, exploding and raining ashe onto the unhappy riders and everyone knew that once a volcano really started up it only got worse.

Taylor was completely frozen. Whatever that ten foot maniac had shot at her had completely immobilized her muscles. All she could do was breathe and blink.
Her anger grew. If there was one thing she couldn't stand it was being weak. People had tried to shelter her since the moment she was born. She was sick of it! If she some idiotic blunder that ruined her life happened she'd prefer to make it herself, for herself. One of Taylor's fingers twitched.
It gave her an idea. A crazy idea, a suicidal idea. Right now no one with them was strong enough to stand up to the red giant. She wouldn't stand a chance if he ever caught up with them again. So she had to quicken her bodies awakening rate. Even if it cost her her life it didn't matter. She was as good as dead if she were caught. She almost smiled as she strained her muscles trying to get the momentum to slide over the bird's body and took her last glimpse of the sleeping Derey beside her. If Taylor couldn't wake up her body she'd make the adrenaline do it. She fell.

((I have read that. I love anything by Tamora Pierce she's my favorite author.
Branching off of what you already have is okay but you have to ok it. Like what Derey did with all the elements is an example of that. What your suggesting is ok too.
By the way. No action? . . . we just ran away from a bloodthirsty ten foot giant who wanted to chop our heads off. What more do you want? I'll try to do something about it anyway. I'll bring up something truly crazy and hurl it at you guys. You can make something crazy happen too you know. I haven't seen anyone but me and Ethan initialize stuff yet. I'm not the only one out there with this type of insanity.))

Everything was quiet as each of the people sat on their birds. Like survivors stranded on their individual islands they were left with only their thoughts for company.

UPDATE TIME!!!
(For those who don't want to read all these posts)
Okay since the last date that I updated a lot has happened. By the way the last part of this is post 17 on character page.

Rose gets pulled in and hears people talking. She meets up with the others. She sees Ethan. Ethan introduces himself. Taylor is confused by people randomly showing up. Thinking they might be enemies she starts to leave saying they are fools for believing Belenos. Dani wakes up(from the coffee shop) and says wonders where they are. Rose says she's glad she's not the only one who doesn't know where they are. Taylor stops and asks so you have no clue what happened? Rose says no, Taylor apologizes and explains what Belenos said. Derey introduces herself to Rose and Ethan. Ethan tries the internet and it doesn't work. Derey says, "Diffrent dementions do that" Ethan doesn't believe her and is about to say so when a dragon and a shadow dragon show up. Taylor remembers something that Belenos said previously. Dragons attack them, they fight dragons and when the real one is down the shadow one turns into the opal stone. Molly shows up. There is a screech and another bird shows up. This time though Belenos is riding it. He makes a fancy greeting(as usual) and demands the black opal from Derey. He tries his best to convince her. She refuses and he is about to do something else when he senses something. He gets back on his bird but just before he leaves he leaves Derey with a warning. "Keep that stone safe Derey and when in the cities keep it hidden. You have no clue what horrors could come about if that stone falls into the wrong hands." He smiled a wry smile. "Treasure it and whatever you do don't let your hands become those type of hands." then he leaves thinking about the past and more specifically the previous stone holders.
INTO THE ACTION AGAIN. The next moment Taylor is suspended in the air by a ten foot tall man completely covered in red. Derey says to drop her he does but then steps on her. He breathes fire on Derey and the forest. She leaps out of the way (Black Opal power calling!) Red man moves towards Derey with a sword. Taylor wakes up and warns them that their opponent is undead. The red man turns around and says to Taylor, "You have the sight don't you?" Taylor paled. "To be this strong here. . .you must have already had it in the other world too." He moved towards her. "He could definitely use that power." His eyes flickered back to Derey. "But you'll have to wait until I get the stone." He pointed his finger towards her and something shot into her forehead. She went limp on the ground, "Running is just so useless isn't it?" He smiled and turned back to Derey. Birds swoop down and rescue them from the red man.
