32418 oooo...I love the skinless cats! I can pretend to be an evil villain and saying *mwuahhahahahaha..." all day while I stroke the cat!

oooo...and I'll name it the cutest name I can think of. Like Fluffy or sunshine. Something like that!

32418 JENNY: same here. I really wasn't drawn to PJ and love Grover a lot more.

32418 I didn't even know the audiobook had different version. I had to quickly check my library. Yes, its the Jim Dale version. I had to wait a month for my copy!

I'm actually in a reading slump so I decided to just go ahead and listen to this one. I'm going to start it while going to work. Hopefully it will kick me out of my slump

32418 We've shown our love for some kick-ass female lead character. I think it's now time to show love to their counterpart!

32418 No probs Jaimie, its a hit and miss for all of us with the library.

32418 I just borrowed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on audio. A lot of people, Heidi being one of them, have said that the audio is really good and I want to find out for myself. I'm just not sure when I'll get around to it.

32418 I hate seeing animals just being abandoned its pretty sad. Post pictures once you get her/him.

BRIGID: yes, I totally thought that Simon Snow was suppose to be the HP of the Fangirl setting. Which I accepted it until they mentioned HP.

32418 OMG Ashley! That is a lot of Harry Potter Books! I only have the softcover edition for 1-3 and the hardcover for 4-7. Then I bough the "signed" (not personally signed by her, but its embossed) version of the box set.

32418 ooooo...good idea, Heidi! Kinda like we have two years worth of hidden gems! ^_^
Mar 13, 2015 07:37PM

32418 GABRIELLE: I had issues with it too and it was the beginning, like Heidi said, but it got better after half way into the book. You might want to try the audio version, if you are planning on re-reading it.

32418 HEIDI: Sorry to hear about your cat! I know what you mean about needing to see your soon-to-be-pet before taking them. It's the personality that you really fall in love with, rather than their appearance!

Just finished...
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I'm not sure what to say. Everyone seems to love it, but I didn't really think its that great. I guess with all the hype I was expecting more. I'm glad that Cath started to get less whiny and annoying, but she still aggravated me from time to time. The ending was uneventful. It wasn't boring, but just no climactic event. I don't know, I guess it just wan't for me. I enjoyed the Carry On tidbit, but not enough that I would actually want to read Rowell's full version of it. For me, it sounds too much like Harry Potter (fanfic version).

I really did enjoy Levi tho. I think he was the saving grace in the book, him and Reagan. Anyways, I gave it a three star. I feel that if I make a review of the book it will be more of a rant than an actual review. I feel so blah tho, cause I really thought I would enjoy it and I'm so disappointed.

32418 I've read Going Bovine and the parts I remember was pretty interesting. Never heard of Swim the Fly before this, so I can't really say much about it.

We don't mind what you pick, Darcy ^_^

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

The protagonists is getting on my nerves. I hope she gets better in the book!

32418 When I think of Science Fiction I think more of Ender's Game or Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Maybe if we can keep it in the area of AI, Aliens, Cyborgs, Time Travelling, etc?
Mar 08, 2015 10:51AM

32418 JENNY: Thanks for the thoughts. I might try the second one, just to see if it will get better for me.

TOMMY: that was actually the first book I read in that series!

32418 Hi All.

Sorry I've been MIA lately, but I do want to post this up for this week.

Please list your top 5 Science-Fiction books. I know there is a fine line between dystopian and sci-fi, but lets try to keep it strictly sci-fi.

Thanks ^_^

32418 I just finished Body Finder and I just totally don't know why I can't get into it!

Do the books get better after each one? has anyone finished the series?

32418 thumbs up for Anna's pick!

32418 HEIDI: yes, I did enjoy it. It was a cute story.

I'm re-reading...
The Body Finder (The Body Finder, #1) by Kimberly Derting

I still don't know if its a series I want to keep going on. I guess cause the book is more into the relationship of Violet rather than the actual mystery. Either way I won't make any judgement until the end.
