NAY! Charissa is no liberal. She is decidedly in the middle of the road, right next to me! Just where I like her. A good friend to have really.

It is also good policy to dehumanize the enemy. Granted I don’t think the military needed to do this because the enemy makes it pretty clear that they are not part of the civilized world.

It's not just his accent; it is his whole demeanor... He is just off somehow. After I have seen a few episodes I am sure I will be able to place it. Bottom line, he is just wrong.

Aside from batteries we were short on:

Ballistic plates (we all had the flack jackets, but without the ballistic plates in them they are pretty much just heavy t-shirts)

Tactical slings

Desert uniforms

Night optics for weapons

Vehicles that were not up to par with what the mission requirements were. (I hear that this is being corrected now)

But aside from all these short comings, we were able to accomplish every mission put forth by the leadership, with lets be honest, relatively low casualties. I believe whole heartily that our casualties would have been even lower if we were all running with a full complement of equipment. But want in one hand shit in the other right?

I have no problem with the money aspect of it, As long as it is getting results. Seems how we are not getting results...

And then there are the good teachers walking, because they are:
Not getting paid enough
Overwhelmed
Getting ripped off by their Union

I think some serious reform is in order, starting with the unions. Improve the quality of the teacher improve the students.

Well I believe in rods

When this behavior isn’t taking place in a unit you know you are in for a real storm. The behavior is crass, and extremely offensive, and yet is the best bonding agent I have ever come across.

A SgtMaj. IS an asshole. And usually is gun ho for life. But the SgtMaj. In this just misses the mark. The way he articulates things is all wrong. I have only seen one episode so I don’t know if it is the script or poor cast choice. I am leaning toward poor casting, but I’ll see.

I think it is pretty accurate; However the SgtMaj's character is off. It might just be bad casting but the guy totally missed the mark.

How else are we suppose to know what children are and are not learning if we don't test them? If there isn't enough time in the school year then maybe it is time we make the school years longer, and the class day longer. As far as kids hating school what else is new. Lucky for us and them it isn't their decision to go to school.

Tennis ball. You should go back to those misfits and show them what’s what. If they happened to pull their shit together then you can always burn their house/flat down. Nothing quiets’ the humiliation like good old fashion revenge. I think everyone knows revenge is a dish best served cold. If you don't want to travel the arson road then I suggest you seek them out and make a mockery of their lives, In front of their significant other if they have one, But lets be honest they are probably living in their parents basement.

Well usually when one hears loose women (here in the states) it is referring to a loose labia... or a statement about their sexual prowess. You know implying that because of the amount of… “Traffic” the “streets” might not be in the best of shape.

I also meant to ask, what your thoughts on Merit pay are. I hear there are some districts that are trying out different ways of handling it.

From what I gather it is an attempt to reward "good" teachers, without giving out sweeping pay raises to teachers that are no longer effective/burned out what have you.
I believe it also rewards the school non-teaching staff too.

Not to long ago there was a special on the History channel highlighting “RODS” These “rods” have been captured on film quiet a bit. The thing is you can only spot them if you slow the frame rate down considerably. This means they are hauling booty. Most of the persons interviewed said it was trick photography, but if that is the case why are so many government world wide investigating them? And I really don’t think the media would be able to pull off a large scale hoax like this. That’s kind of like saying President Bush could pull off something “tricky”.

Well RA the loose version is the NEA (not sure if that is the right acronym; the east coast teachers union) is being paid royalties by ING to push certain retirement plans. Conflict of interest much? One plan in particular is a real bad one 403(b). It is a complete rip off. Over half of your contributions end up going back to the fund managers.


You know this is a little too important to fudge. So I will bust out the book, take some notes (with websites addresses) and post a real explanation. It is pretty nasty and I was really upset that a Union that is supposes to be looking out for the welfare of its members pretty much sold everyone out in order to “pay” for the union administration. Funny I always thought that was what union fees were for.

Is anyone else here reading Fleeced? I’m almost done with it, and am brimming with a wide range of questions. Mainly with teachers, or those linked to teacher Unions… I really hope none of you are participating in the 403(b) retirement plan. At any rate, just wondering who else was reading it. There is a lot to debate in them there pages.

I don't care for his books either by the way. I will be fair and say that he HAD some good stuff once upon a time, but those days are long over. Now he is a miserable little sell out hack.
