I have gone with only about 4 hours sleep during a 4 day period once (when I was much much younger). I functioned okay but I was really tired. This was during my military days and I was inroute to my duty station overseas. By the time I was checked in and in my barracks I was gone! I slept about 14 hrs straight and my new roommate told me I woke up to meet my sponsor and make arrangements to meet her that morning and I don't remember any of it. Luckily my roommate knew where I was to meet her and she recognized me.

I have read a few books that mention having to take care of "business" but they weren't explicit thank goodness. I like to believe that its taken care of and I don't really want to read about it.

Hey if we could bring the materials for a solar energy source then maybe us ladies with ereaders would be set!

We can always kidnap a non-literary person like Bear Grylls to be on the island with us.

Hey, is anyone bringing a botany and/or wildlife book for the island we are going to? Or are we taking our chances, hoping our captives, uh, I mean, our companions will know what's edible?

Indeed, why waste valuable book and snack space for plates?! Or even clothes for that matter! ok, maybe a few shirts and shorts for modesty's sake :)

I was thinking about Gilligan's Island when I saw this thread and I've decided we must be allowed to bring who we want with us. Since GI had 7 castaways we should chose 6 others to go with us. My first choice would be Lisa Kleypas' Dr Linley. Got to have someone to tend to my "injuries". I got to think about the others :)

It would be a hard decision but without a doubt my Julie Garwood historicals (all of them), several Linda Howard Romance Suspense novels (Open Season, Mr Perfect and a few others), 1st 3 books of Johanna Lindsey's Malory series, a few of Lisa Kleypas' and a few of Catherine Anderson's and definitely Kathleen Woodiwiss' The Wolf and The Dove and The Flame and The Flower. I'd also want to include Jude Deveraux' Velvet Series and The Black Lyon, Tami Hoag's Lucky's Lady, Karen Marie Moning's Higlander series, Pamela Clare's I-Team, Jaycee Clark's Dark series. Ok I need a really big truck :)
