Confessions of a Royal Bridegroom, the second book is much better. I really enjoyed it. Like you both, I wasn't that impressed with Secrets for Seducing a Royal Bodyguard.

For me it was Nate Garrett, the Hellequin from the series by Steve McHugh. He is a bonafide dangerous hero. A terrible enemy, and a great friend/protector.
