DHASG July Challenge

Introduction: July is the seventh month of the year. Summer is in full swing. Vacations are the most common undertaking this time of year, that and trying to keep cool. But let's enjoy some reading this month as well.

Rules:

1. Any DHASG member can participate in the challenge.
2. Books must be read between July 1st and July 31st.
3. A book may only be used once in the challenge.
4. Please sign up and list your stats or link to the completed stats listing when you finish the challenge.
5. In your stats, include book title, author, date read, and how it represents the specific part of the challenge.
6. Enjoy and happy reading.

Levels:

1. Seventh Book Heaven: Read 8-12 books.
2. Seven Book Itch: Read 7-5 books.
3. Seven Books Up: Read 3-4 books.

1. Vacation: Since many people take their vacations this time of year, read a book in which the main characters take theirs. You could read a book with a title that sounds like a vacation place.
2.National Anti-boredom Month: July is National Anti-Boredom Month. Let's not get bored by reading a book that you're excited about and that excites you enough to rate it four stars.

4.I Forgot Day: July 2nd is I Forgot Day. To celebrate this day dedicated to forget things you don't want to remember. Read a book where a lead character has amnesia or has forgotten events in their life.
5.Canada Day: July 1st or the first non-Sunday of July is the day to honor Canada becoming self-governing in 1867. Read a book that is about or takes place in Canada, has a character who is Canadian, or is written by a Canadian author.
6.Hot!Hot!Hot!: Since July is full of hot days and there is a holiday called Sidewalk Egg Frying Day, let's read a book that features hot weather, is set in a hot place, or has a cover that reminds you of hot weather.
7.You Work too Hard: July 5th is Work-a-Holic Day. The day for those of us who have the bad habit of being a workaholic. Read a book about a work addict.
8.Be Geeky and Proud!:July 13th is Embrace Your Geekness Day. To celebrate, read a book that represents an aspect of your particular geeky nature.
9Fool's Paradise: July 13th is also Fool Paradise's Day. Fool's paradise is defined as "a state of happiness based on a person's not knowing about or denying the existence of potential trouble." Read a book that represents this concept in some way to you.
10.In The All-Together: July 14th is National Nude Day, a day to celebrate the beauty of naked human body. Read a book that has a character who spends some time nude outside of the shower or bathtub.
11.Moon Day: July 20th is the day to honor the first men to walk on the Moon: Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin Aldrin, Jr. You can read any science fiction novel, a book set in space, or even a book about an astronaut or a rocket scientist. You could even read a book with a character with any of the names of the first men on the moon.
12.Choose One: Choose one of the the holidays and read a book to represent that day: Pandemonium Day, Ugly Truck Day, Cousins Day, All or Nothing Day, International Day of Friendship.

Introduction: June is here! School is out. Summer is coming fast. Time for long days, beach reads and riding out some hot days with cool drinks and treats and fun activities. Let's get some good reading done in June.

Rules:

1. Any DHASG member can participate in the challenge.
2. Books must be read between June 1st and June 30th.

6.Time for Doughnuts: The first Friday in June is National Doughnut/Donut Day. The day originated in WWI, when women volunteers with the Salvation Army served homecooked meals, including doughnuts fried in oil to servicemen. Read a book related to doughnuts in some way. 11.Father Figure: Father's Day is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Honor fathers by reading a book with a lead character who is a father or has a relationship to their father. Or any book that addresses the concept of fatherhood.
12.Your Choice: Choose one of the following holidays to read for this part of the challenge: National Pink Day, Swim a Lap Day, Forgiveness Day, Hug Holiday, Meteor day.

3.National Police Week: The third week of May is set aside to honor police and law enforcement. Read a book that has a prominent character who is a police officer.
4.The Thrill Isn't Gone: May is Date Your Mate Month. Marriage doesn't have to get boring and stale. Read a book where a couple who has been married at least for three years keeps the fires burning in their relationship.
5.Foster Care Month: May is also Foster Care Month. For Foster Care Month, read a book where a prominent character who was or is in foster care or who is/was a foster parent to a child.

9.Clean Up Your Room Day: May 10th is a day for some necessary cleaning. For this day do some cleaning on your own turf. Read a book that has been cluttering up your to be read pile for longer than you care to admit.
10,For the Love of Mother: The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day. Let's honor mothers by reading a book about mothers, or with a lead character who is a mother, even if it's not by birth.
11.Strawberry Bliss: May 20th is Pick Strawberries Day. Read a book that brings to mind a fact about strawberries. Here are some strawberry facts:
