29443 I see your point. I definitely didn't mean it in a negative sense. My book collection is well-kept and I don't have pest problems. For me, I speak facetiously. I consider myself a book hoarder in that I tend to have a huge attachment to my collection and it's one of the things I still collect.

I also collect art and craft supplies.

29443 Sounds just like my book situation, Noelle. :)

29443 I think I have to consider myself one. I do tend to hoard books by my favorite authors, series even themes. I let them pile up to savor before, during and after I read them. I enjoy the collecting much as the reading.

29443 Curious if you consider yourself a book hoarder. What's your criteria for it?

DHASG October Challenge

Introduction: October is a spooky, fun month and the month in which we get our first taste of true fall weather. Fall is truly here. Let's enjoy a month full of excellent reading, hopefully some nice seasonal moments as well.

Rules:

1. Any DHASG member can participate in the challenge.
2. Books must be read between October 1st and October 31st.
3. A book may only be used once in the challenge.
4. Please sign up and list your stats or link to the completed stats listing when you finish the challenge.
5. In your stats, include book title, author, date read, and how it represents the specific part of the challenge.
6. Enjoy and happy reading!

Levels:

1. Black Cat Run: Read 10-12 books.
2. Gathering of Ghosts: Read 5-9 books.
3. Jack O'Lantern Row : Read 3-4 books.

Categories:

1.Bucket of Popcorn: October is National Popcorn Popping Month. Let's celebrate this delicious snack by reading a book that represents a fact about popcorn. You can find some facts here: https://www.factretriever.com/popcorn.... Or if you can think of something even more creative, go for it.
2.Love a Dog!: October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. Read a book where a character adopts (not buys) a dog as part of the story.
3.Pizza Power: October is National Pizza Month. Here are some pizza facts to prod your creativity at how to represent pizza in a book you read for this part of the challenge. http://mentalfloss.com/article/69737/...
4.Pet Peeve Therapy: For Week 2 of October, Pet Peeve Week, read a book that challenges you with a personal pet peeve, as a way to overcome this emotional/mental obstacle in your life.
5.Techies Day: October 3rd is the day to appreciate your tech gurus. Read a book with a prominent character who has plenty of technological skill and know-how.
6.Bald and Free: October 7th is Bald and Free Day. Celebrate baldness by reading a book with a prominent character who is bald for at least part of the book.
7.Mad Hatter Day: October 6th is the day dedicated to the character Mad Hatter from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland stories. He is crazy and he makes hat. Read a book that represents one of these aspects of the Mad Hatter, read an Alice in Wonderland book or retelling, or read a book that has a hat of some kind on its cover. Here is a list of hats. You might find this helpful in some way: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...
8. Curious Events Day: October 9th is a day to ponder curious events of any kind. Read a book that includes an event that is strange, bizarre, or unexplainable.
9.Monster Mash: In honor of Halloween, read a book with a character who could be a guest of honor at a Monster Mash, a character who is not human or is some kind of monster: ghost, demon, zombie, vampire, werewolf, etc.
10.Friday the 13th: This month, there's a Friday that falls on October 13th. This represents a well known phobia called Triskaidekaphobia, fear of the number 13. Read a book that taps into this specific fear or other types of phobias. You can consult a list of phobias here: http://www.fearof.net/
11.Be A Hermit Day: For October 29th, Hermit Day, practice withdrawing from the world by reading a book with a character who has hermit-like tendencies. Alternatively, you could stay home all day one day and read a book and count whatever book you start and finish on that same day.
12.Trick or Treat: Let's go Trick or Treating. Pick one of the following holidays and add that book to your bag of goodies: Mischief Night, Punk for a Day Day, Evaluate Your Life Day, Dictionary Day, No Beard Day, National Dessert Day.

Bonus: Unlucky Thirteen--: For the thirteenth category of this challenge, you can read a book that represents your worst nightmare, so either a situation so horrifying or scary that you're glad it's not real, or something deeply embarrassing that makes you happy you're not the character in the book.

29443 Hi Angel. I'm a big fan. I especially love her GhostWalkers series and my second favorite is the Sisters of the Heart series. I'm excited about the new series with the guys that went to the Russian Assassin school. Judgment Road looks good.

I do have to complain that she is getting to heavily into the sexual dominance thing for my tastes.

29443 Angel that would definitely count since it includes the term honey.

29443 sorry for the typo. The challenge runs from September 1st to September 30th.

29443 I finally started Shameless, the last in the much beloved (by me) Rohan series.

I need to start this series!
