1.Green Thumb: In honor of Lawn and Garden Month in April, read a book with a lead character who has a green thumb: is a gardener, botanist, horticulturalist, or works with plants/flowers in some way.
2.Loads of Laughs: April is also National Humor Month. Read a book that is humorous, makes you laugh, either intentionally or accidentally.
3.Road Map Literate The first week of April is Road Map Week. Read a book where the characters take a journey and have (at least in theory) to consult a road map.
4.For the Love of the Library!: Week 1 is also Library Week. Show some support and appreciation for libraries in one of the following ways: Read a book that you check out from the library, read a book where some action takes place in a library, or a book where the lead character works in a library or has an impressive home library of their own.
5.National Poetry Month: This month celebrates poetry, and so can you. Some options: read a book that incorporates poetry in some way, either the title borrows from a poem, or the chapter headings use poems. You could also use a book written by a person with a poet's name or with a prominent character with one of the names of a famous poets. Here's a website to help you out: http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets....
6.International Children's Book Day: For this day on April 2nd, celebrate children's literature by reading a children's book, either for younger readers, middle grade/juvenile, or young adult readers. If you can find a book with a character who writes children's books, that will work for this part of the challenge.
7.Peanut Butter Goes With Jelly: April 2nd is the day for PB and J. I think many of us grew up eating PB and J. It's sort of a childhood staple. If not, we can appreciate the parallels between PB and J and other literary themes. For this part of the challenge, read a book that brings to mind the relationship between peanut butter and jelly. Here's a little help with some facts about it: http://www.nationalpeanutboard.org/pe.... You could play on the concept of dynamic duos, like PB and J!
8.Beam Me Up, Scottie!: National Tartan Day falls on April 6th. It's a day to celebrate Scottish heritage. You can join the party by reading a book that appreciates Scottish heritage in some way: set in Scotland, characters with a Scottish background, author with Scottish name or surname. Here are some facts about Scotland: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne....
9.Brothers and Sisters (or Vice Versa): April 10th is National Sibling Day. Read a book that incorporates a series of siblings into the storyline (they can be adopted or steps).
10.Walk on the Wild Side: On April 12th, walk on the wild side! Read something you don't normally read, or randomly pick a new author. You could also read a book where the character takes the walk for you--doing something very out of character and risky for them.
11.Day of Suck: April 15 is That Sucks Day. This is the day that we recognize that everyone has really bad days or there are things in our lives that 'suck'. Let's have therapy and work through our own issues by reading a book with a character who is going through a lot of things at the moment or has had their share of 'suck'. Maybe we'll all feel better in the end.
12.Hello Spring Bouquet: Here's a posey of flowers to celebrate the beginning of spring. Pick out your flower to read for this challenge: Easter, Ex Spouse Day, National Stress Awareness Day, National High Five Day, Hug An Australian Day, Kiss Your Mate Day.

Breathless--a reread. Dang I love this book. It's just so awesome. Lucien is a hot mess, and Miranda is the only woman who could deal with that dude. When I finished, I wanted to reread it again.
My Reckless Love--for review. Really enjoyed this. I think fans of Julie Garwood Scottish romance would like this one a lot. Loved the hero Calum and the heroine, Arabella. The villain is extra evil.
Listening to Never Kiss a Rake and Never Trust a Pirate on audio. Never Kiss a Rake is a reread. I love Anne Stuart so much!

An element I find myself thinking about is Verity’s position in looking after her siblings ..."
It was a very deep, complex story. Still one of my favorites. I definitely need to do a reread.

Danielle, they are both ok. I’ve now finished Juicy and I liked ..."
I just started listening to Never Trust a Pirate on audible. I really like it a lot. Luca/Thomas looks like Aidan Turner and Maddy looks like Kaya Scodelario.

Parable of The Sower by Octavia Butler
The Life of Henretta Lacks
The Underground Railroad
For romanc..."
Some great books, Chrisolu. I've read Parable of the Sower. Very deep.
