Okay, I'll write a book review here.
Evil Genius by. Catherine Jinks. I give this book four stars. I have to absolutely love a book to give it five stars, so very few books I read I give five stars. I give Evil Genius four stars because it is a well written book about Cadel Piggot who is a computer genius who is working on a degree in World Domination at a school for evil geniuses. The character of Cadel is very detailed and the plot is intricate. The book though, does leave a lot of questions unanswered at the end, so I give it four stars because it doesn't tie up enough ends for my liking. There is a sequel and I reserve to change my rating to five stars if that book resolves the issues that aren't tied up in this book, but I don't know yet.

My advice to writers in general is that if you aren't posting your story somewhere as you write it and are waiting until you are finished writing it to post it anywhere, then don't worry about writing the story chronologically. If you are stuck at one point, just move on to another and maybe that will help you figure out why you are stuck.

An idea that I have that I'd like to write about someday, have actually started writing a few times but lost or never finished, is a story about two teenagers in love, but their relationship is hidden and then one of them is kidnapped by this really evil friend of her parent's and is tortured and her lover thinks she is dead and becomes really depressed and ends up killing himself. The girl dies not too long after that but her boyfriend has already been born into the world again and so she has to wait to be reborn again to try and find him.

I started writing when I was really young and it all started with a journal. I found that after a while, writing about my life was boring, so I started writing about how I wished it was and then from the autobiographical fiction, I went to real fiction by say 13 I wasn't writing TOO much stuff about myself anymore.

One good book for girls is She's come undone, I had to read it in high school and it was written very well... also another good book that girls would probably like is a Great and Terrible Beauty.

I have a really long to-read list because I am doing a book challenge for another group that lasts from December until the end of February. But some of the highlights on to read list are Catching Fire, The Golden City and Running with Scissors.

I would like to apply for Discussion Observer. I can be online every day for at least a few hours, some days more than others because I do have two part time jobs, but I can sometimes be online during one of my part time jobs. I'd be really good at adding comments that say more than *bump* that would actually move the conversation along. Also, I like to use full sentences when I type, I assume that's not a problem even though not everyone does that?

I have read all of the Harry Potter books and all of the Twilight books. I enjoyed all of every book, to different degrees. That being said, I believe that overall, the Harry Potter series is better than the Twilight series, although, there are four twilight books and seven Harry Potter books, so it gives you longer to get to know the Harry Potter characters, longer to get attached to them.
The reason that I like Harry Potter better than Twilight is because I believe that the secondary characters and plot lines are better developed in Harry Potter than Twilight. They both have excellent Primary characters and plotlines, but it is the secondary stuff that really helps decide which is a better book.

For anyone who wants to broaden their point of view and possibly think about something that they don't always think about, I recommend the book Luna by Julie Anne Peters.

Hi Reed, thanks for the welcome.

I nominate the Hunger Games because it is a great book that I think both boys and girls can enjoy and although it is technically a fantasy book, there is a lot of realism in the story and a lot of character development.

The book is by Clive Barker and its a fantasy book about this girl whose name is Candy Quankenbush (weird name, I know) who lives in a small town and gets chased by this creature so another creature sends her to the islands of Abarat where she has to try to defeat evil basically.

Thank you Jeremy. I need to have an icon thingy..but I'm not on my own computer right now...are there any ways to put a icon on that isn't already on your computer?

I recommend that everyone that hasn't before read the Davinci code. It may not be YA, but if you like history or the study of religions, you'll love the book and I just read its sequel that came out earlier this year, its even better.

I'm about to start re-reading Abarat because I'm waiting on a bunch of books that I have on reserve at the library.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say I'm pretty new to goodreads, someone was talking about it on Nanowrimo so I decided to come look at the site and I love it here. Oh and I'm 22 but I plan to write YA books so I still read a lot of them.
