268590 thanks foe/sussex. i'll let it roll - it might be the break i'm looking for.....................................and, i'm a lazy bastid!
Jan 10, 2021 11:19PM

268590 dredd would have his sad old nadgers for earrings without the need to move!

anyhoo, having plenty reading time i've been bashing on thru' heading for 'shuggie bain', the 'predator vs dredd vs aliens' graphic novel is magnificent - stunning artwork over two seperate dredd stories featuring the well known alien races attempts to infiltrate mega city one. no ******* chance! who's next?

irvine welsh's A Decent Ride is very funny, has a shedload of sex 'n' drugs, unlikely scenarios, but the 'edge' welsh previously wielded with skill and conviction, appears no longer to be there. cruising, but, ahem, decent.

junior lent me One Billion Years to the End of the World - short s.f. novel concerning a quartet of scientists who are on the verge of separate breakthroughs, but suddenly are put off their work by a series of unlikely and persistent interruptions. they get together to try to find an answer (except the dead one!) - fascinating - halfway through.
268590 efterthefoe,

Eulogy For Dead French Composer - Gwenifer Raymond
I Can Feel You Dancing - The Lone Bellow
Caged Sleep - Katie Von Schleicher

268590 it's actually true. c'mon, why would i involve myself with bringing deep ******* purple (hope he's not reading) into theframe?
yes she's a pedigree with papers - her mother (real mother, not mrs tech) was a regular competitor at cruft's!

.......and bob z.? well, he's an actual sh*tebag!
Jan 10, 2021 12:16PM

268590 lux's kennel name is Lux Reaosh Georgia On My Mind! the breeder is a huge deep purple fan, and, having run out of 'smoke on the water' and what have you long ago, named her as above because apparently they did the song once live!
Jan 10, 2021 01:35AM

268590 "WTF is the Dog doing on the settee?"

can't expect a princess (and her little 'familiar') to lie on the floor, never mind outside in a freezy weezy old kennel? and who'd cuddle up to mummy and daddy at night? yup. the bed too!

i think i'm gauny have to drop paul o'grady a note to come and throw dog biscuits at your windows all night long!
Jan 09, 2021 01:28PM

268590 "shower"

lux is a two person shower - one to pull, one to push, then one to hold, one to wash. sorry, that's four people! anyhoo, it's a nightmare.
Jan 09, 2021 01:24PM

268590 "Watching Michael Palin, meeting people who hunt Rats, Dogs and Monkeys with ancient flintlock rifles"

damn, must've missed him when he was in kilmarnock!
Jan 08, 2021 08:44AM

268590 the sexiest of all sexy black uhuru records,

discogs.com/Black-Uhuru-Black-Uhuru/r...

also released as 'black uhuru showcase' and 'guess who's coming to dinner' at various times with various mixes (ja and uk). this is killer, in showcase style. huge songs with sly 'n' robbie introducing electronics with a fat roots sound.

listening to miss tech's choices in the next room - hmmm, some stirring sounds,
fleet foxes (mainly 'shores')
talking heads
franki valli and the 4 seasons
wanda jackson (inc 1 song backed up by the cramps)
it's nice once in a while.

268590 a friend very kindly posted me a bunch of stuff to rip and return, and i am trawling through 3/4 (not dreadfully organized!) of,

amazon.co.uk/Datapanik-Year-Zero-Pere...

minus the non p.u. disc, but no matter, first 5 p.u. albums and early singles. 'the modern dance' and 'dub housing' are untouchable, some of the rest due for some re-appraisal.
268590 although having a slight rankness to me (parp), i ain't bought a residents record for 41 years. they used to be the last word in strange/weird, but as time lapses, they are practically mainstream now. and i fully suspect it still ain't the same 4 individuals! i might even unload the 'ralph' originals if any-one wants to line my pocket?
268590 it's a good way to ensure no-one else eats your sausages! but he burnt them anyway - what a dick!
Jan 07, 2021 12:27AM

268590 you silly sausages. we can't have 'songs from the distant future' mainly because it'll be an indistinguishable mess of bland...........and also, it hasn't happened yet.................or has it?
i was just keeping the place till i thought of something, so,

Theme 296 - Top Of The Pops (Resurrection Special) - your favourite totp appearance - must MUST be accompanied with a clip from totp (any sight or sound of the beast, s******, will result in disqualification.)

Theme 285 - "Old friends sat on their parkbench like bookends" - songs where the lyrics clearly demonstrate the friendship between two people or a group of people. The word 'friend" (and variants) does not have to appear in the title. - Val

Theme 287 - So Tense - song titles with the words past, present or future in 'em - Brass Neck

Theme 291 - High dynamism - a song which features a moment which particularly stands out. It could be just be an instrumental 'sting' or phrase, a dramatic pause followed by an explosive continuation, or a sudden change of direction - an audio 'handbrake turn' if you will. Theme 291 - You Make Me Feel Like Dancing - Song titles containing one of the following words: dance(s), dancing or dancer(s) - Val

Theme 300 - A Good Year - songs that feature years in their titles (e.g. In the Year 2525 - Zager & Evans, Winter of '79 - Tom Robinson Band, etc.) or first line of their lyrics (e.g. Lonely Boy - Andrew Gold, Riot in Cell Block #9 - The Robins, etc.) - Gordon
Theme 301 - Ain't - er, that's it, songs with ain't in the title - Brass Neck

268590 it's because we (as people from britain) tend to pump the life out of a recipe/dish until it is suitably bland enough for our stodge-ready palates!
