barney gumble to david crosby - "you're a musician?"

that's all i gots to say - i didn't watch the programme, primarily because he's a huge asshole, so i guess that answers your question?

268590 bite the hand off stuff, that! great set, beautifully packaged - represents another edge to scientist's mixing, a more chilled, measured approach, expanding outward - different but just as crucial as the 1st volume - again greensleeves choose to take the piss by depicting scientist as a wee roboty thing on the cover!

268590 nae bother, val, i think you'll appreciate the book, and the 'histories' and procedures of the times described.

now, for a change of pace - Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing: Life, Death and the Thrill of the Catch - very gentle, and considering the authors, at times very funny , and equally sad at others - two long-time friends after life threatening heart issues.............go fishing - as smashy would say, 'nice'. the technical advice drags a bit, but then, i've no intention of ever going fishing!

268590 the ones i looked up were far too dull to post, so thanks for finding the interesting piece.

anyhoo, it's obviously where he got the inspiration for his grimmest, darkest tales.

there is a poor image of the plaque on the images page for 'edgar allan poe kilmarnock'

268590 i've had a look (in a shop!!!!!), and, you know me, i'm on the hunt for a cheap copy.

a short decent read was Poe: Stories and Poems: A Graphic Novel Adaptation, but it brought up a reminder (that i'm sure i had forgotten) that edgar allan poe received about a year's schooling in kilmarnock, when a boy - there is a blue heritage plaque in grange street (near where the buroo is now, marking the site of the house he lived in at the time.

268590 i'm not and i will. give thanks to the most high tim!

268590 ha ha, call me mr stargate!

be warned tho' - you've probably been CHOSEN! auld putin might fancy he'd be better off with you rather than with who he belongs to!

268590 it was just to say that she watches all manner of rammstein live stuff on yt, but she's not a buyer of dvds - exception seemingly in the form of the forthcoming lindemann film 'live in moscow', which tbh, looks a lot of fun.

'mutter' autorip just dropped, the cd to arrive as part of her birthday.

Jan 16, 2021 06:44AM

268590 way ahead of you, derek. this is day 10 isolation period for me, and there'll be a good few more to come after that - yes, i've got the 'rona, couldn't let green cheese go by me!

should stress, everyone else in the house tested negative and may go out tomorrow. practically 10 days in the spare room with my lappy, a pile of books (deliberately didn't set up a tv) and my familiar, bob z. i'm still ill tho', have a fortnight's line, antibiotics and steroids - it's party time!
