Kristi... Make Mine Magic is available on Audible Originals. The narration was very good too.

Thanks Waverly, I really enjoy those books. I sent the first 2 Rosie O'Grady's Bar and Grill books to my friend (who has one of my kindles) and the first BDB book and she picked the BDB series to start. I was just looking for a new release date a couple of weeks ago so thanks for posting about book 5.
Lisa.. Thank you!!! My male cousin who lives in GA, said that he had to stack his BDB books on their sides so that he doesn't get questioned about his taste in books. He likes the fighting and violence in them. Gotta admit, I do too. I have given up on the same series that you have, also the Anita Blake books and I think that I've called it quits on the Psy/Changeling books too. I'm way behind on the Dark Hunters, so that is probably a no go too. But never on the BDB!! LOL!!
DemetraP .... Thanks for the heads up on the Davidson books. I liked the first couple of Queen Betsy books and then I abandoned them because they weren't that appealing anymore. I think that I will give an alternate Alaska a try.
I finished an ARC
Rakes and Roses
It started out pretty good, slowed down tremendously and ended with a lukewarm bath water feel. The premise of the book was very good, but I never felt a true connection. It was an OK read but it could have been a great read if it was fleshed out a lot more. I gave it 3*'s and that was generous because I did enjoy a couple of scenes.
On audio I finished the latest Molly Harper Mystic Bayou novel,
Always Be My Banshee
. This was a nice regrouping of the previous couples with two new people. I have the feeling that there will be a new focus of the series, and I wonder if the author will move to a new location. I really liked this book, the main couple Cordelia and Brendan are a perfect compliment to each other. One "big bad" of the series is solved but a new one has risen at the end of this book. 4*'s
I also listened to a new book by Shanna Swendson,
Make Mine Magic
A woman from Texas visiting New York City on her not-honeymoon, (she was jilted at her wedding rehearsal), assists a blind elderly woman and ends up with an artifact that makes her the queen of the New York faction of wizards. This was fun and the woman, Claire was actually not a push-over. A research librarian by trade, with this artifact she is able to enter a magical library through a door in the NYC Public Library. She uses her skills to help in the reversal of a curse and to establish the rightful ruler of the NYC wizards. There is a slight romance but nothing big, (maybe this will be a series). This is the author of the Enchanted Inc series. I know that I listened to a few of those but I never did finish that series either. So many books so little time...

I've only read one other shado..."Ok Lisa, you have to fess up. If Ward said something about Lassiter and Davina please tell me even if you have to put it in a spoiler. Also, you read these (The BDB), in DT book right? I'm asking because my kindle edition of
Lover Enshrined (Phury's book), is MIA. I know that I read it and it wasn't in DTB either or audio. I know that they must have changed the book ASIN numbers because probably 9 of the BDB books in my kindle library are all dated the same. The BDB was the 2nd PNR series that I read on kindle, which was probably in 2008. I think that the first book that I had to wait for was V's and Jane's book.
I am reading the BDB still, but I have a NetGalley book to finish.
Rakes and Roses
So far, it's a little slow but pretty good.

Shannon... I agree with Lulu, I like the Shadow Riders, they're a rather unique "species". I listen to them so it's hard to skip the sex scenes, LOL!
I've only read one other shadow rider series and I don't recall if the writer ever finished them.
Lisa... You know what I mean. Ward has tossed Rhage and Mary a ringer and V and Jane one too. She just loves to mess with her couples. I'm sure that they will be fine, I hope that she doesn't harm any kids.
I agree with you I want more of Lassiter and Devina. I wonder if they will become a couple in the end. He is soooo smug, (and goofy), I wouldn't be surprised.
Re-reading the BDB books has me kind of surprised at all of the little details that I have forgotten. I'm reading
Lover Awakened
I love Z and Bella. They are probably one of my favorite couples of all of the BDB world.

Lisa and those of us who still read the Black Dagger Brotherhood books there are 2 very different books coming out this year.
The first is another spin-off series, Black Dagger Brotherhood Prison Camp Book 1,
The Jackal
, which will be out August 11th.
The second is Blay and Qhuinn's mating ceremony, which of course has some sort of tragedy associated with it, (it seems that Ward can't ever leave well enough alone with her couples),
A Warm Heart in Winter
which will be out on November 24th.
Also, on the off chance that you haven't read this series and want to try it, Book 1
Dark Lover
is currently $2.99 and the second book,
Lover Eternal
is only $1.99. The books go up from there, generally around $7.99 until the most recent ones.

If you haven't read these yet, there is a 3 book e-deal for Georgette Heyer's "greatest hits" for $3.03. These are excellent historicals always with a twist.

(view spoiler)[Amalie is now a different personality, new name, even smells different, but somehow familiar to Midas. It's a couple of books in and they aren't together yet. Both are broken characters. She is totally out of her element in the Potentate series. I forgave her (hide spoiler)]
Bullets and Beads
The latest in the Miss Fortune series just came out yesterday! I do these in audio so I am always a book behind. She likes to say that they are going to be out in 2-3 months, but they never are. I'm so glad that I discovered these, but I sure do wish that the audio books came out @ the same time.

I decided to join my friend in reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. There is so much that I forgot. One really weird thing as I was checking out the series order for my friend, & I noticed that all of the beginning of the series books have the same "purchase" date, (9 of them). I found that really weird. I'm going to assume that there was an update/book number change on that date. Also, Phury's book, (which I know that I read), isn't showing up anywhere. Later in the series I did listen to a couple of the books, but those were about peripheral characters. I don't like to listen to too many books when I have been reading the series for a long time because I have their voices in my head and sometimes the narrators' don't match.
Lulu... I agree with your spoiler.

Just turn off the wifi on hers. Unless she turns it back on, it can't sync.
ETA: or put hers on airplane mode."On one of the kindle question forums someone kindly responded that all I had to do was turn off whispersync. Duh! So easy!

I have another Hailey Edwards series to post about. Her final book in the Foundling series, (Book 5), is out.
End Game
This is the series finale and I can't wait to see how she clears everything up.
I have been reading T.S. Joyce's Becoming the Wolf series. There are 4 books and it follows one couple he's her protector/mate and she is the rarest wolf with an unusual legacy. These are apparently books that she wrote and just gained back her rights to them.
Behind the Beginning
Hold Steady
Protect Mine
It Begins with Her
These are all quickie books that you can read in a couple of hours.
Lisa... My friend Michelle has decided to read the BDB for the first time. I was thinking about reading them with her but she is reading on one of my kindles and I don't want to mess her locations in the book up.
Does anyone know if there is a way to not sync 2 kindles that I own?

Lisa.... The whole 'King" scene was worth it all to me. She sure can get to my heart. Yes, I do still love this series too.

I know someone here recommended the
Spiked
series. I like it very much. There is a new novella out
Earp & Chandra
which is about the Gila Monster shifter, Earp, and Chandra, the pack second and who is a hyena shifter, who team up to track down paranormal poachers who sell shifters to collectors. This series is free on KU.

I do wish that GoodReads would change their sequencing for the books. In order to find the Audible edition for a book, many times there are at least 3 paperback editions, a kindle edition, a hardcover edition, many foreign language paperback editions, a CD edition, and somewhere after 8-10 different versions of the book there is the Audible edition. Don't they know that lots of people listen to books? Ok done ranting.

"Finally got my copy of
so I know what I'll being doing for the nex...""
Lisa... I liked that one! Enjoy!
HappyBookWorm... I had the same feeling, I hate creepy dolls, but I did finish the book.
Waverly I'm impressed. I would be curious about your rec's too.
On audio, I finished
Someone to Wed
I like this crazy mixed up group of people. After a very big scandal in the first book of this series, this is the man who inherited the title, Earl, and all of the repairs both physically and mentally to go with it. The h in this book is highly unusual, she is an extremely rich business woman both practical and a recluse. She needs a husband and he needs a lot of capital. I liked the way this couple talks things out. There are no TSTL moments. It's nice to read an historical romance where the h doesn't fall into bad circumstances to be rescued by the formidable H.
I'm listening to the 4th book in this Westcott series,
Someone to Care
which has a somewhat older H and h.
I am also reading another historical romance by Julia Quinn,
First Comes Scandal
This is the third book in the A Bridgerton Prequel series.

Paula, please take care of you. Sending healing prayers to you!

BJ yes the mature women theme is the goal of the paranormal women's fiction series. I think that there are 10? different authors in that series. I have read the first books of almost all of them, have a couple of them in the TBR, and happily await the second book for many of them.

The second book in Shannon Mayer's Paranormal Women's Fiction Novels is out.
Midlife Fairy Hunter

Lulu... I always travel wearing a scarf. I have a longish kind of gauzy scarf which I can wrap around me for warmth and to breathe through. I might look like a crazy person but I also subtly wipe my area down with hand wipes. My friend always wears a mask when she travels, she's been doing it for years.
