222868 I've been reading a couple of finale books,

Holiday Bride Holiday Bride (Wolf Brides, #4) by T.S. Joyce This is story about the younger people of the Wolf Bride series. Set in the west during it's frontier days, this is a nice catch up with the Wolf brothers, their wives and some of the few locals who know about the shape shifters.

Miss Frost Says I Do Miss Frost Says I Do (Jayne Frost, #7) by Kristen Painter This is the the conclusion to the Nocturne Falls spin-off. It was a sweet story, (quite literally, Winter Elves are big on sweets), set in the North Pole and along with a who-done-it to solve, Jayne and Sinclair get married.

Currently, I am reading the conclusion of the Desert Cursed series. Emperor's Throne Emperor's Throne (Desert Cursed #6) by Shannon Mayer it has been non-stop action from page one. I am about 3/4 of the way through, I can't wait for the conclusion.

I also read a beginning to another T.S. Joyce series, Steal Her Heart Steal Her Heart (Kaid Ranch Shifters, #1) by T.S. Joyce 2020 is starting out to be a great reading year for me.

Paula... I know that she was contracted for 2 books after Dark Queen. Shattered Bonds came out a couple of months ago, so that leaves only one left. I will be so sad when this series ends. It is my favorite UF series.

Lisa... Yes I think that it is. I love the series, and at the end of the last book it looked like everything was a go. I really liked the Lady Julia Grey Mysteries, and I think that I like the Veronica Speedwell series even better. I wouldn't mind if she continued this series as long as Veronica and Stoker get together. I love their characters.

TINNGG... I hope that Thirdboy's health continues to improve.

For the Lindsay Buroker fans, the prequel and the first 3 books in her Fallen Empire series are free on kindle.

https://www.amazon.com/Fallen-Empire-...

I haven't read this series but I picked it up for "free". (The audio is $7.49 with the kindle download).

Frisco... I'm with you, I'm also looking forward to the last book in the Jane Yellowrock series, (I think that it is anyway). I also always welcome a Briggs novel and the conclusion of the Hailey Edwards Foundling series.

222868 Lisa... I have been watching all about the fires, it looks horrible. My prayers for all of those both affected and those battling the fires. I hope that your farm remains safe.

I just finished the Christmas short story in the Chronicles St Mary's series, Why Is Nothing Ever Simple? Why Is Nothing Ever Simple? (The Chronicles of St. Mary's, #10.6) by Jodi Taylor . I am really looking forward to the next full length novel, Plan for the Worst. Plan for the Worst (The Chronicles of St Mary's, #11) by Jodi Taylor which will be out on 4/16.

I want to read the next Veronica Speedwell novel.

I always enjoy the Alex Verus series and the Miss Fortune series, I just wish that the audios came out at the same as the books.

I'm always up for the next J.R. Ward book.

Happy New Year to my Book Buddies!!

May the Most You Wish for...
Be the Least You Receive!

Happy Reading! 😊

222868 For those who wish to participate, the new 2020 A-Z Challenge is up.

Vinity... Re: The Virgin River show... I think that the story moves a bit slow and it irritated me that they insisted in the Mel character being such a "b" and the doctor was more of an ass than I remember. I did watch the whole season.

222868 Doug... I jumped on the pre-order too. Also, another "Sweep" book is coming out too. sweep with me. It will be out on January 14th and it sells for $3.99.

For the fans of the gang at St Mary's, their Christmas "jump" story is Why Is Nothing Ever Simple?. Why Is Nothing Ever Simple? (The Chronicles of St. Mary's, #10.6) by Jodi Taylor

I have been reading a different series, A Dead and Stormy Night A Dead and Stormy Night (Nevermore Bookshop Mysteries #1) by Steffanie Holmes
Of Mice and Murder Of Mice and Murder (Nevermore Bookshop Mysteries #2) by Steffanie Holmes these are by the same author as Ultimate Crookshollow Holiday Collection: 10 shifter paranormal romance novels Ultimate Crookshollow Holiday Collection 10 shifter paranormal romance novels by Steffanie Holmes The stories are, to quote melindeeloo, on the plus side of OK. There are grammatical and character errors in the Crookshollow series, but I'm finding the Nevermore Bookshop ones are a bit better written.
In this series, through some crazy magic, the owner of the small village used book store is Heathcliff, (yup, Wuthering Heights Heathcliff). His flatmate is Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes' nemesis, and the third character appears to be Poe's raven. Our h, Mina, has returned from a stint in NYC as an apprentice to a fashion designer to her backwater village in the UK and her Mother who thinks that the next big thing is just right around the corner and she's going to be the one selling it. Mina, broken and poor starts to work at the bookstore and soon discovers it's secret. Not the greatest writing but it has some funny lines, and they're free on KU. Now if I could only come up with some time to sit and read all of these books, LOL!!

I did get a chance to watch the Netflix show Virgin River. They followed the books pretty well, but they aren't telling the stories exactly as the books do. It seems to be a blending of the first couple of books. I liked it, each episode is only about 45 minutes and I whipped through them in a couple of days. Warning, the first season end on a cliffhanger. BOO!

222868 For our friends in the Sydney, Australia area... Bec McMasters is going to a BABE 2020 event, Ballgowns and Books, on February 1st, 2020. Here is the link...

https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/babe-...

It sounds like fun, I hope that someone can attend and post about it for the rest of us.

I watched the first 8 episodes of Virgin River on Netflix and it is following the books reasonably well. I think that they are going to make a certain character bad when in the series he is actually one of the good guys. I like the cinematography and the music.

I've been trying to read the last book in the Crookshollow series but I still have a bit to go. Ultimate Crookshollow Holiday Collection: 10 shifter paranormal romance novels Ultimate Crookshollow Holiday Collection 10 shifter paranormal romance novels by Steffanie Holmes

On audio I am listening to the latest J R Ward book, Where Winter Finds You Where Winter Finds You (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #17.5) by J.R. Ward
I might be getting cynical, but I find myself wanting to yell at the female characters in lots of my recent books and tell them to get over it, life isn't always perfect.

HBW... I can feel your pain. there is a pretty good buyout at my job, but I can't take it because my husband has his own business and I have the insurance through my job. He is 7 years younger than me and I don't want to go back to work in my retirement just to pay for his insurance. We would have insurance for 3 years with this deal, but then what do I do? I guess I have to work for a few years yet. ;-)

Thanks for the historical recs, I think that I read Anne Gracie before I should look into her books again. I'm not sure that I have read Fresina before.
