Finished Epic for Task 17 (travel)
1/5

Ok Finished. Enjoyed it but
(view spoiler)[it really does take some concentration at times to figure out where in the story you are. At the star of every chapter I felt like The Doctor and River Song trying to work out exactly where they were in their story. Occasionally the jumping around got irritating, but mostly it flowed.
@ Crusader: Yes, I also thought that, but it wouldn't have made such a good end to the story.
I really liked how the postscript tied up the story of the other guy in the house. (hide spoiler)]

I'm on page 235. Should finish tonight. Really enjoying the story...

Congrats! I think this definitely qualifies as a time when reading can take a back seat in your life! Books will wait for you while you enjoy this period!

I read a few Reviews of this, and they all seem to mention that it is a similar style to Crypt... (my spell check really hates that title and I can never remember it). I think I will skip it. There are too many books I really want to read! Enjoy...
Carolien wrote: "@ Barbara - you'd better post the comment on time travel in the task 16-20 thread since just about everybody has The Shining Girls down for the travel task."Yeah, and based on what I have read so far, it doesn't qualify.

Finished Carolien's choice Before the Poison
Finished Lu's choice On The Island
Finished Liezel's choice The Way of Shadows
Total Read: 5

I have a golden Lab, Jack; a blue point Siamese, Sapphire; a ball python, Basil and my folks (who live on the same property) have a Yorkie puppy, Cashel.
I will post pics sometime later as we are having a brunch today so there will be 7 other dogs here plus various humans...

Oops, sorry. Got a bit confused there. Many of the challenges have planning and points combined, which is where I got confused. Will update in the other thread...

Finished SWEM. Overachiever status achieved.

Enjoy the celebrations.
Like I said, I knew there were some countries, but I didn't realise how many! Thinking about it, within South Africa, the Zulu nation has a King as does Lesotho (which is a separate country, but inside our borders). There may be more, but that is what I know of...

Wow, I didn't realise you or Japan still had royal families. I know there are countries which have royalty that no longer rules as such, but we hear so much about the Brits and Monaco that I never really thought about which other countries have royals!

I'd read it now! You can do it... Besides, I need another overachiever to finish both WoM!

You still have until tomorrow night...

I really am enjoying it, even though I get interesting collections of bruises almost every week!
Archery is also something I would like to do. My friend has a long bow. I keep telling him to let me play...

Bought a copy at EB this morning. The book fell on the keyboard and changed the number of copies from 1 to 908! Needless to say, it was corrected before I paid. The book really wants to be bought.

I'm going to get a copy tomorrow morning...
