Lol. She was in the Girl Guides before the time of the books and she was asked to leave for some transgression. :D

21757 Sandy, would this work? Blurred trees in the background.

A Constellation of Vital Phenomena by Anthony Marra

Large version just in case.

21757 Perfect - thanks! Helps that I'm stingy and my average is 3.3. It'll take a while for a 5-star book to dip that low hopefully. :)

21757 Thanks! For the recommendation as well! :)

Thanks!
21757 Nick, sorry to bug you again, but how about this one: And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie ?

My author apparently isn't known to literature map. I have to go with the initials - except none of my planned books fit with that either.

When I was doing a cover search for this, I came across this Listopia list: Silhouette Covers. Most of the covers in there are silhouettes in black or white. Just in case anyone else is like me and need help. :)
21757 Thanks Sheila! :)
21757 Thanks Nick! I'll use the first one!
21757 Sheila/Kathy,

Is the window sufficient in this cover?
This Magnificent Desolation A Novel by Thomas O'Malley
21757 I wanted to check some options (especially the last two):-

The Retrospective by Abraham B. Yehoshua When We Were Bad by Charlotte Mendelson Mr. Peanut by Adam Ross This Magnificent Desolation A Novel by Thomas O'Malley

21757 Is Unless ok for this?

21757 Dlmrose, is there a minimum number of ratings for a book to count for this task? I mean, how about if the book has 2 ratings?
Feb 28, 2013 07:20PM

21757 I had more 5 star reads this challenge than I thought, surprisingly.

2 were rereads:
Jane Eyre
Pride and Prejudice, my favorite book ever.

4 were magical realism tentpole books (I'm a huge fan):
Love in the Time of Cholera
The Satanic Verses
Shame
Shalimar the Clown

2 fantasy standalone books that I really wouldn't mind sequels of (read: give me the next book now!):
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
Embassytown

2 were Flavia de Luce books, who I'm fond of and therefore never criticize:
A Red Herring Without Mustard
I Am Half Sick Of Shadows

2 were non-fiction books that read better than fiction:
Night, Dawn, the Accident: A Trilogy
Washington: A Life

and 5 were books that just made me really happy:
It's Not Love, It's Just Paris
Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day
Flight Behavior
This is How You Lose Her
Astray

Phew. Done, if I didn't make any mistakes while posting. Congratulations everyone, thanks to the wonderful mods and task creators, and see you in the Spring Challenge thread! :)
21757 Sheila wrote: "ahh, yet another multiple book at the same time reader! For some reason this season I ended up with having read 1 book for each 2 book task. I didn't plan it that way, it was just how they became..."

I'm assuming this was meant for me Sheila! I read a lot of books at the same time, sometimes even as many as 10, lol. Reading piecemeal helps me finish boring books. :)

And I like reading one book for every two book task! I try to plan it that way. It's very satisfying towards the end of the game when every book read counts for points. :D
21757 Thanks JennRenee! I should be done by evening - I'm about 40% through on both books. :)
21757 Two books to go...
