21757 Perfect, thanks Sandy! :)
21757 Hi Sandy,

May I have these books approved? I'm not sure they'll stick on until the time I post...

1. The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls - Popular Bookclub Book - US, All Time, #19 today.

2. Dark Places by Gillian Flynn - Most Read - World, This Month, #21 today.

21757 Yes Andy, that works. :)

The Tomorrow Code by Brian Falkner works.

BZRK (BZRK, #1) by Michael Grant has a large and very obvious title, so I'm going to say no to that. Sorry!

21757 No problem Nikki! Happy to help. :)

21757 Yes it does. I definitely remember it in the scene where these guys are in New York trying to contact that hacker for the camera/scanner thing? The hero messages the hacker that the book that they're trying to copy is a big deal, and the hacker messages back asking if it's bigger than potter. I mean, it probably varies a bit, but that's the gist.

I'm assuming this is for the 15.1 task? It also references JK Rowling by name I think, but I can't remember if it names a specific book. Hope that helps!

21757 I actually didn't pay attention to Nick's employee woes, not until I read the discussion here. I thought a) that Nick's place was less than 20 miles to L. A. and all his employees were drifters trying to get to L. A., and b) that he was a stingy fellow who didn't pay much.

Honestly, I've no idea where I got (b) from. I might even be confusing it with some other book. But, anyway, that was just part of the set up for me.

@Jayme, my favorite Cain book is Double Indemnity. I've read Mildred Pierce too, and liked it, but for the life of me I can't remember anything about it.

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione and The Archived (The Archived, #1) by Victoria Schwab work perfectly.

Out of The Easy by Ruta Sepetys , I'm not sure if her legs are within the cover (behind the table), but I'll give it the benefit of doubt. If you decide to use this, could you mention that it was approved in the thread?

21757 "Waked us" is not something I would use, but I thought it grammatically correct. No? The days when I could parse English grammar are so long gone, that I'm actually going to be surprised if I am right. lol.

21757 Andy wrote: "Do these two books work for dismemberment, Option A?"

Andy, The Mystery of Breathing by Perri Klass works. I'll say no to Shadow Baby by Alison McGhee because it looks like the person (child?) is entirely within the cover, even though they're behind the tree. Sorry!

Claire, I'm assuming you mean this cover for Night Road?

Night Road by Kristin Hannah

It wouldn't work for A, because there are two tiny people on the road that appear whole. Sorry!

A Song Flung Up To Heaven by Maya Angelou works. :)
