Please be patient as we work through whatever changes Goodreads throws at us.
We hope this season's tasks lead you to some great books. Happy reading!

I’ve been reading a lot of books on the philosophy of technology for my research. During these next few months, I will spend time rereading some, reviewing notes for others.
For this task, choose 2 options among the 4 below and read one book that satisfies each requirement.
Required: State the options.
Option 1: Reread a book that you have read in the past. Any book that you had read prior to Sept. 1, 2022 counts.
Required: State that the book is a reread.
Option 2: Read a book with a main page genre Technology.
Option 3: Read a book by a single author whose initials (all) can be found in the phrase ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
Option 4: Read a book with a word of at least four letters in the title or subtitle that can be made by the letters in the phrase ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. Letters can be used only as often as they are found.
Required: State the word.

In keeping with the theme of self-improvement that my previous tasks this year have been, its time for some Duolingo love. If you aren’t familiar with Duolingo its an app based language learning program that you can use on your phone. It walks you through a series of lessons and levels that get more complicated as you go. The goal is that with 15 minutes of practice a day, you can rapidly acquire language skills.
For this task, you will pick ONE option and read Book A and Book B for that option.
My current Duolingo learning streak is 237 days (as of September 1). So each of your books must exceed 237 pgs.
Option 1:
Book A. Duolingo was launched as a private Beta service on November 27, 2011 and went public June 19, 2012. Read a book that was FIRST published between November 27, 2011 and June 19, 2012.
Book B. Throughout your lessons on Duolingo, Duo (an Owl) helps you through. Read a book where the letters DUO or OWL can be found in the title (not subtitle).
Required: State which letters you are using.
ex
DUO: The Sound of Rain
OWL: L.A. Woman
Option 2:
Since I’ve been using Duolingo, I’ve experimented with a few different languages before defaulting back to French which has been my primary language. These languages have included Japanese, Ukrainian and Greek.
Book A. Choose one of those three languages: Japanese, Ukrainian and Greek, and read a book where the author's initials (all) appear in that single language word.
Book B. Using the two remaining language words, read a book where a word of at least 4 letters in the title can be made with the letters of those languages. Letters may be used as often as they appear.
For example, if you pick Greek for book A; then you can use the letters of JapaneseUkrainian for Book B.
A: Kendra Elliot
B: SUNKEN- Sunken Shadows
Option 3.
The vast majority of my time using Duolingo has been focused on refreshing and then extending my French language skills. I’m currently on Unit 14 of over 100.
Book A. Read a book at least 75% set in France and/or from an author who was born in/lives in France.
Required: Include a reference if the setting and/or author's status is not evident in the GR record.
Book B. Read a book that is between #1 and #14 in a series that has more than 20 published books. The series name and number must be indicated in the GR title listing in grayscale parentheses following the title or grayscale italics above the title.

Although it takes time away from audio books, I have been listening to a lot of bookish podcasts and growing my TBR. This task relates to some of my favourites. Choose two options and read one book for each.
Required: State the option.
Option 1: ABC Radio National Bookshelf https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/...
and The Book Show https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/....
These are great podcasts to hear about new releases, especially Australian ones.
Read a book first published in the past year (on or after September 1st, 2021) written by an Australian author. An Australian author is one who has ever lived in Australia.
Required: Include a reference to the author's Australian status if not specified on goodreads.
Option 2: The Book Club Review. https://www.thebookclubreview.co.uk
Reviews books in a book club format.
Read a book shelved on the first 10 pages of Book club Books
Required: State the page number.
Option 3: Currently Reading. https://www.currentlyreadingpodcast.com
Discusses a range of books the podcasters are currently reading.
Read a book that another SRC member had begun to read, is reading, or has finished reading between August 25, 2022 and September 1, 2022 inclusive.
To set shelf settings- Navigate to a player's profile.
Click Bookshelves
Click Settings to the right of the shelf search box (next to compaare books)
Select checkbox for date started
close
Sort by date started descending or date read descending
For example, you can read a book they started Aug 20 and finished Aug 28, or that they read from Aug 31 - Sep 2. Use the dates to determine suitability for this task, ignore shelf tags.
Required: State the SRC member and the date(s) they read the book.
Option 4: Women’s prize for fiction podcast. https://womensprizeforfiction.co.uk/f...
Discusses books by women with various guests.
Read a book that has been longlisted for the Women's Prize for Fiction 2013 to the present.
