Finished with The Archaeology of Home: An Epic Set on a Thousand Square Feet of the Lower East Side, a book whose title says it all.
I can't follow Laura's lead, because it would mean a long time of a lot of blank spaces. I will just post the states as I cross them off, I think. So far, I can cross of California with Of Mice and Men.
Definitely intend to play this game. I have a 666 I have been working on for a while that I need to finish as well, so it helps that this is more open-ended as to time frame.
Melydia and I were just discussing The Sparrow tonight, since we both loved it. One of my "best boojs ever".
Have you read any of the Thursday Next books by Jasper Fforde? It might help if you picture Miss Havisham as she is in that world. 😉Of course, that is probably easier for me because I quite liked the book when I read it in college.
I was going to look up what the Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master is -- but I recently acquired a copy of Lincoln's Dreams, so I guess my work is already done. And I highly recommend A Man Called Ove. I mentally earmarked one of his other books for my "book in translation".
I set the goal at 17 of these, thinking to myself that I would likely manage quite a few more. Barely finished #17 on New Year's Eve.However, since it was the ONLY book challenge I completed in 2017, I am grateful that Stina included me in it.
Finally managed to cross this one off with Ghost Girl. One more book to finish to complete the goal I set for this challenge. And one more day left in 2017
I think Malala definitely fits, because it is political about another country. Plus it was realky educational and a good read.
Agatha Raisin and the Haunted House -- turned out not to be haunted, but I will count the book anyway because I bought it for this challenge in particular
The World Without Us -- oops, only a nominee for multiple awardsBut Wildcat Under Glass won the Batchelder
Holy crumb -- the year has gone fast and I haven't done as many of these as I thought I would. I need to get back to the list and figure out what I still need to read.
This was hard, because all of my favorites that I read in high school I have reread at least once. But I hit on the perfect solution -- Nancy Drew.Nancy's Mysterious Letter
