Carole wrote: "Thanks, Ted. Why aren't you on Facebook? You should make an author's page or a Pepe page!!"Frankly, I simply don't want to get involved in Facebook. It's a personal thing.
Carole wrote: "voted!!"Thanks, Carole. BTW, I'm not on Facebook, otherwise would have supported your son this morning.

Hey, Gang…
We have serious competition this week.
Recall, last week, we lost by only six (SIX) votes. This week is going to be even tougher because not only is the same winning competitor in the lineup, but also, new writers have entered the fray.
My contribution—or, I should say, ALYSSA DEVINE’s contribution—is about the tricks that twins play on one another. I think you will enjoy it (if you’re a twin, you may even have done this.)
I hope you will enjoy the story and VOTE for her. Voting ends at 8 PM, EST, tomorrow (Thursday).
Remember: this week, vote for ALYSSA DEVINE.
Thanks.

Carole wrote: "My brother lost his home in Sandy. We were out of business for weeks. It nearly closed our doors forever."I can't think of anything scarier.
Carole wrote: "I know- The kids cleaned out all the babies clothes they no longer need and I'm shipping it down there."Just terrible what's happening. I remember a bunch of us got together when I worked in Washington, DC, and we shipped a ton of stuff to a family that fled to Arkansas of whom we became aware after Katrina. As well, Susan and I helped a family in New Jersey that was in danger of losing their home after Sandy. It's just tragic.

What a great idea, Carole. Diapers are NOT provided by relief agencies.

Hey, Sam...hang in there. Sending good thoughts your way.

Neat way to make a splash!
Christine wrote: "Congratulations, Ted!"Thanks, Christine. The funny thing is, the day after the award was made, someone gave the book three stars on Amazon.com...said it wasn't what they expected. Guess you can't please everyone.
Amy wrote: "I missed voting this week, you did well though."Thanks, Amy. Good to see the competition stepping up its game. It's always fun. I'm putting together a book of my flash fiction entries and other flash fiction stories for publication early next year. I enjoy the challenge of picking out a photo and writing a 250-word story prompted by it. Amazing what memories come out of nowhere.
No joy in Mudville this week. But I sincerely thank one and all for your support, both of me and of all indie writers who enter these competitions. They'll announce a new contest on Saturday (there's a new one every week!), so come and join the fun. It's a great way to hone your writing skills.

Congratulations, Marie. BTW, this has nothing to do with our books, but if you're following the coming storm disaster in Texas and Louisiana (up to 2 feet of rain and 110 mph winds), you might want to watch this Website, the absolute best for hurricane monitoring:

I pity the poor FEMA director, who's only been on the job less than a month.

And for Bezos to condone that is beyond comprehension.
