You’d still need to find an audience. Erotica is nigh on impossible to promote and I can’t help with romance, I’ve been told I don’t write romance. I’d like to get more into horror but I’m not sure if the human race is too now too sensitive for the horror I grew up on.
Yes, Christmas is looming and as is customary at this time of year when I need extra funds, I earn less because my clients need extra funds. I almost feel like throwing out some right old rubbish stories with cheap covers rather than spending real time writing things at my level of quality (ie decent but not masterpieces) to not reach an audience. (In a mood-rough weekend)
I get so frustrated with the whole marketing and promo thing. I want to use marketing but I can’t because some won’t take my money whether it’s because I’m unknown or I don’t have enough reviews. The ones that will take my money don’t give an acceptable ROI. I could keep throwing money away but I’ve decided that now is not the right time for that and there are more pressing calls on my finances.
My first bargain booksy cost me £35+ and I sold three books. They asked me how it went and I told them it wasn’t great and gave them the numbers. Couldn’t tell you if they got my feedback. I didn’t hear anything again but I do feel better about my three books compared to your none, Carole. I’m glad you got your money back. At least it’s not just me that these things don’t work for.
I wrote this on my phone. Not sure I approve of me writing things on my phone. https://medium.com/@debzcooper/now-ha...

Great article. I know anxiety intimately, it used to course through my bloodstream and wrap itself around every bone...."
Thanks, Alicya. She'll be fine (in about three years when she's finished uni!)
Oh I know, Carmel. I’ve had one or two people assume because I’ve published books they’ll be able to buy them on the high street. As if. That’ll be the other way of publishing then.
I received the same email so I’ve also signed up. I’m tempted by the possibility of a bricks and mortar being able to order one of my books for the last person on the planet who doesn’t have an Amazon account.
The question I have is where are they distributing paperbacks to? I’d like to throw Missing Remnants out wider. But I am thinking of throwing the next one into KU to see if it makes a blind bit of difference. I haven’t done much promo recently and I’m back to buying my own books just to see something sold!
