When we first met, you sent me a few books for my kids and NEVER asked for a review.

Haha! I feel like that with car salespeople. Clapped for your article. :)

The Facebook party is picking up steam. Today's meet and greet prize is a free Kindle copy of Puppy's Bubble! I rarely do free ebooks, but this seemed like a special cause. If you are interested in a copy, please check it out. :)

By the way, Carole, your feature post went up at 11 central time. :) Rocio's will be going up in about 30 minutes. Judy and Becky's will be tomorrow. I lined this one up with a live event on Saturday so hopefully I will be able to bring a lot more people in on the last day. Your feature giveaways will stay open for a while, that way people can still enter throughout and even after the event. :)

Catch that Chinchilla just hit #1 New Release status on Amazon!!! **Eeekk** Cake and ice cream all around!

It floors me that you even got that email. You are one of the most outspoken people against review swaps. The only time you have come close to asking for reviews is when you encourage authors to leave reviews for books they read, but those aren't even your books!

**HAPPY DANCE** Catch that Chinchilla is now available on Amazon! My Facebook release party kicked off an hour ago.
https://www.facebook.com/events/15065... Carole, Rocio, Becky, and Judy have been kind enough to volunteer as guest authors for the event. We are giving away books, Amazon gift cards and more. Please stop by a couple times a day on the 7th, 8th and 9th to see the latest games and giveaways!

I received it. Thank you Brenda!

I have already finalized the schedule for the party. But if you send me a brief paragraph bio, a paragraph about you children's book(s), an author photo, your links, and 1-2 cover images to contact@talkingtalesbooks.com, I would be happy to schedule you in one of my weekly author feature slots. :) Welcome to the group!

The owner of one of my local bookstores said January through May are the hardest months. She asks the community to pledge 5 for 5 ($5 a month for 5 months) to help get them through the tough times and keep their doors open. It has had a great response.

I always try to buy books from local bookstores, even if I have to pay a little more. It is worth it to me to send my business their way. In college, Borders was one of my escapes, and I hated seeing them go under.

My Walmart use to have a whole isle of books and magazines. Now books are on an end cap. :(

The Indie Advent Calendar event is really starting to go strong over on the Facebook page. I have found events like this are a great way to interact with readers on a fun social level without feeling the need to throw your book in their face. It lets them get to know you as a person which may make them interested in your book later on. This is a great opportunity! I am also trying to at least "like" if not comment on and share other authors posts for the event when I see them on social media. The more reactions and comments a post gets, the more the post is boosted in visibility by the site. If you share on Twitter, be sure to use the #IACBooks. :) I am having a blast getting to know some of you better. Great event Kay!

I wonder if certain areas of the country are more accepting than others. I have been very lucky with my local libraries. There are 4 of them within a 15 minute drive from me and all were very excited to accept my books. One of them has even invited me back multiple times for local author events. I am in the Midwest. 2 other libraries north of me also carry my books based on a recommendation from a friend. Only 1 of the 6 libraries has my books in their books"local author" section, and they are in a small town so people often do check out that section. It never hurts to ask. :)
