I have been very behind. Life has been unkind to my writing time lately. The last couple weeks have been rough. Here is a new article I posted. Just trying to oil the gears to begin writing more articles again soon--feeling rusty and having some trouble getting into the groove. I promise I will catch up with everyone else's articles by the end of the week. :) https://medium.com/@egraham040/i-watc...
Correct. Good point. They need to go into their Amazon account and select manage devices from the menu. Then they need to add your email address to the list of addresses their device accepts documents from.
I agree too. Kids books are preferable in print. I have offered both and always get more activity when it is a print book up for grabs. If I do more than one giveaway at an event, I always make sure at least one prize is something physical--just a personal preference. I have given away print books, but I also have done things like handmade bookmarks and signed canvas paintings of some of my book characters. Amazon gift cards are also popular prizes.
It is more personal preference as to how long you leave your giveaway open. Some people do close them by the end of their time slot. I like to leave mine open for 24 hours after the entire event ends. You can also giveaway different ebook versions other than mobi if you don't want to gift through Amazon (sometimes gifting through Amazon needs to be limited to your home country because some countries don't allow ebooks gifted from other Amazon sites, but you just need to specify the eligible country(ies) in your rules--not a big deal). Hope you have a great weekend, Carmel!
Many takeovers are genre specific. The nice thing about these takeovers is the diverstiy of genres. There is something for everyone. When offering freebies, you can email a mobi copy directly to someone's Kindle address. You can also buy and gift a copy from Amazon. You will get the royalties for the purchase so you are only out the difference that Amazon keeps. You can also be creative and gift things like Amazon gift cards, bookmarks, bookplates, etc.
Also, some of us keep our giveaways open past our time slot for people that aren't able to make it during the event. There are some giveaways still open for a few more hours. I hear you on work, but from past experience, the interaction on weekends is much lower than during the week due to people being busy with personal things on the weekends and vacations.
Hope you can join as a takeover author one day!
That is awesome! The interaction may have seemed low at times, but I was also watching the "views" of each post. There were a LOT of people who weren't commenting, but they were looking at all the posts. Those views are still growing today as people get up and these posts are showing up in their Facebook feed. :)
Thank you, thank you to all the authors who participated in and promoted the takeovers! I had a blast and hope you all did as well. :)
We had to move the event to a group page. Facebook wasn't allowing author posts to be visible on our regular page. We are and will be redirecting people to the group page. Here is the link where you can join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/10457...
The IAM takeovers are tomorrow! Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to participate and to everyone who has been helping spread the word. We also have an event page that we made for easier sharing on Facebook.https://www.facebook.com/events/36035...
That makes perfect sense. So if I pick a font that tends to be standard with most computers it should work on most machines/devices?
I am trying to use a more kid-like font too, but for some reason it goes crazy on Internet Explorer.
I am working on updating my website. There are a few small changes I would like to make, but I am still working on how to do them. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has. :) Thanks!www.talkingtalesbooks.com
