201765 Congratulations, Dale. 42 with a chance of stretching to beyond the stars sounds brilliant ;-)

201765 I echo what Dale said!

The above link takes you to my blog with its usual sage saying, jolly joke, handy hint and bargain book and a little tale of a super cool James Bond.

Any writers struggling with finding a title for their book might want to know what “The Sea Cook” became.

For readers: This month’s bargain is One Dark Night (The Dark Moon Series #1) by Anna Faversham

From 31st March for 7 days, 0.99 US and UK. The choices we make determine our futures. A romantic thriller mystery. If you like Poldark, you’ll probably love this too. And, of course it’s free if you’re a member of Kindle Unlimited.

201765 Around 6 p.m. my eyes start to need to rest - they tell me this loud and clear, that's why I've ended up watching more TV than usual. It's interesting to hear that you get more writing done when you have to go to the office.

Very pleased to hear you got the first dose. I'm awaiting a second now.

201765 I must take a look at that, Dale. I wonder if I've said that before?

201765 I'll tell all I can.

201765 We all do what we can, Sam, I can't look after rescue dogs - I wish I could. All I can do is include them in my writing. You actually do something. Each does what they're able to.

And Valerie, it's kind of you to say so! Just doing our bit.

201765 Hello? Anybody else out there? Or is it just us two having a natter?

201765 What you've said is all so true. For those who don't do social media, or not much, we can drop 'likes' on this group's members posts. I belonged to Goodreads for years before I discovered the power of the 'likes' to make our work more visible.

201765 I think some of us are too shy to pipe up about what we are doing for others and as I did a blog post on not always staying quiet (imagine if the scientists had kept their discoveries up their sleeves!) I thought I'd shout out to two people who are supportive and inventive on here.

If we can't pay it forward perhaps we can pay it back :)

201765 Just saying that on my blog I gave the opportunity to authors to have a mention in my wip.

2 of the responses came from this group and I am delighted to be able to use their books because they have supported me in the past, paying it forward, and they continue to do so. So I thought they deserved a little bit of pay back for what they have done for me.

You know who you are! Thank you.

201765 Oh yes, I've so enjoyed watching and rewatching great dramas - crime, historical etc. 7-10 p.m. that's mostly where I am. If the thing has adverts, I fill that up with catching up on something!!!

So, is anyone else going to admit to having watched more TV than they've ever done before?
Mar 27, 2021 03:34AM

201765 What did I get done this last year? Well nothing like as much as you have done.

I wrote a total of five books this year, but I have an agent now and we'll see if he can publish them traditionally.

I wish you all the very best with this.

Sorry I haven't listed all I've done but like you, I've tried to take advantage of fewer interruptions (good and bad) to get more done. Tried...

Right, you've inspired me (again) I'm going to get everything done on today's To Do list.

201765 Thank you, Carole. I wish you and all other members of this group the same. I'm looking forward to two days with absolutely nothing in my diary. I hope.

201765 It was a morning of writing (it went very well) and then marketing - always drains me because I don't do what I know I should!

Good to hear you'll also be taking it easy over Easter.
Mar 26, 2021 02:22AM

201765 I have put a line through two days over next weekend - Easter. There is no way I am going to be doing anything other than resting!

I fell asleep on the sofa at 6 p.m. last night. 6 p.m.!!!!! Never done that before. Worrying!! It was rather nice though :)

201765 Any updates on this?

A whole year has gone by since the first full lockdown in the UK. It was amazing. Eerie. Not a car on the roads (hurray) not a person on the pavements (weird). I had to drive to attend to a rogue alarm (long story) and it was something like out of a sci fi/dystopian film. Then people started daily jogs or walks, just the one and just in their local area. Very quiet though. Wonderful!

Second lockdown and people and cars increased.

This third lockdown and people and cars have increased a lot! So have all the delivery vans.

Here in the UK we are about to ease up and I am so looking forward to seeing the family again.

And how nice it will be for those who have slogged through, having to work endless hours in dangerous situations, to finally have things return to at least near normal.

We have lost a lot of businesses of varying sorts - too big a subject for me to attempt here. Tragic.

So how is it for you now?

201765 So long as you make notes, or voice memos, or a record of your thoughts somewhere, you can then sit back and sift through at your leisure.

I try to ensure that I switch off my work mode by 7 p.m. and relax from thereon. I'd like to say I read but my eyes also need a rest! Bless 'em.

201765 You're a great gal, Carole!
201765 Winter’s nearly over (in the northern hemisphere at least) and let’s hope the lockdowns will soon be over too.

My blog has its usual sage saying, jolly joke, handy hint, bargain book and yet another bright idea (please don’t groan too loudly, well not so that I can hear). A plan to brighten the place up...

Immortality This Is Probably a Novel by Anna Faversham

0.99 through till 3rd March US/UK or FREE on KU
I’d love to know who wrote the latest review: “A beautifully written, imaginative, supernatural and definitely unique story! ...Well paced story with wonderful characters and full of suspense and romance, too!” A big thank you to that person.
