Something good happened: I just won a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award for HOLA! Let's Learn Spanish. I'm so excited! I don't think that I've ever won anything! Carole Roman won an award also.

Hi, I'm Judy Martialay. I've been following the blog for a long time, but couldn't find the time to introduce myself. I am a retired teacher of world (aka "foreign") languages. My first book, ¡HOLA! Let's Learn Spanish, gives children 6-10 an early and fun introduction to Spanish. I'm currently working on the book for French, Bonjour! Let's Learn French. Writing and illustrating, then putting it all in Indesign and using Photoshop has taken forever!
This is a new career for me. Being a (very) senior citizen, (think of Grandma Moses, but without the renown), I've had a long learning curve and a lot of catching up to do with Facebook, etc. Carole Roman and Julie Gerber have been very helpful. I appreciate the advice and comments that you all have contributed to this blog.
