201765 Is this old news? I just found out, via someone else, that Carole R. won the Readers' Favorite Silver Children's Educational Award for If you were Me and Lived in the Mayan Empire and I won the Bronze for ¡Hola! Let's Learn Spanish..I thought that you (or anyone) were notified directly if you won an award..I didn't dare look myself.
201765 Please be my pen mom too, Carole, although I'm probably old enough to be YOUR mother!!

201765 that's interesting about the birds and crickets; you must have been closer to the eclipse than we were (Long Island)..there was plenty of sunshine, it seemed more filtered during the eclipse..

My 3 year old granddaughter had special glasses for a viewing in Troy, NY, not exactly on the direct path, but (according to her mom) she did see the moon in front of the sun.

I'm sorry to hear about the awful weather, Amy. We look forward to summer all year and it often turns out to be a disappointment. Here in Lake George, NY, the summer has been cold and often rainy, lots of mosquitos. When you get a good day, like today, you try to make up for the rest.
