Sat down and read volumes 1-3 of Descender. This series is so brilliant and masterfully put together. Volume 3, especially. If you haven't tried this book yet, do yourself a favor and pick up the first volume. Each arc has a perfect cliffhanger ending that will leave you crying for more.
I'm mostly bummed it took me this long to read it.

Gotta agree with you about Legion. It's not even about the comics. It's just good television.

I definitely think everyone should read El Deafo; it..."I'll definitely be checking out El Deafo. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have a LOT of thoughts about this book (but saving for the show at the end of the month, UGH!). I read it as soon as it was announced if only because I want to read all of the previous run of Rat Queens before I read the new #1...

Oh sweet! I was looking for a reason to reread this series (given the new #1 came out this week)!

My heart! Thank you so much for listening to
all of our show!

Holy smokes. I wrapped this book up tonight (just before the podcast because I'm a slacker :P), and BOY does it read really well. I didn't realize I had finished it until I got to the last page.
More on my thoughts on this week's episode! :D

I'm really enjoying Green Valley. The issues aren't super consistent pacing-wise, so I think it will be a l..."If I have anything to say about this book right now, it's a question: How's this book going to wrap up by issue #9?!
DM wrote: "Am reading through all Locke & Key volumes. still need to pick up the last volume, mind."AGH! I love that series. I haven't read the last volume either!

I
deeply know that feeling of the backlog, but I have very little restraint to not buy new comics...
Hopefully we'll read your pick next!

Just started my re-read of X-Men: Legacy -
X-Men Legacy, Volume 1: Prodigal. This is easily my favorite X-Men story around. It's 4 volumes and perfectly succinct.
Also, started a re-read of a series I never finished:
Proof, Volume 1: Goatsucker. This book ran for 33 issues, and I only ever read volume one. IT IS DENSE and it is fantastic.
Simon wrote: "I'd second Kate's suggestion: March: Book One"Oh boy! THAT book is amazing.

Sat down and re-read
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye, Volume 1 for another book club (at comiXology!) and forgot that I
really like the world this story starts to build. It's hard to get into, but after issue #3 (end of the TPB) you get nice and hooked on the characters. I look forward to reading the rest of the series (on comiXology Unlimited).
I also read
SLAM! #3 and
Curse Words #1. If you're not reading SLAM! you should fix that. That book is full of awesome roller derby awesomeness and friendship. And Curse Words is a whole lot of weirdness for an opener issue, but I'll keep reading because Ryan Browne's art is fantastic.
I ordered a whole bunch of Fantagraphics books today because they were running an Inauguration Day sale (20% off with 10% donated to Planned Parenthood):
*
Celebrated Summer*
Cosplayers*
Doctors*
Patience*
Saint Cole*
The Hypo: The Melancholic Young Lincoln*
The Longest Day of the FutureSo look forward to me talking about ALL of those in the near future on the show (and here).

X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills - This is one of my favorite X-Men stories. It has nothing to do with February... but it has the word "Love" in it... right?

Oh boy, this week is a big one:
TWPL - Mike.
Otherwise, I did read
Killing and Dying: Stories this week, which was very sad, but full of beautifully crafted stories. Tomine's art is perfect and succinct. I highly recommend it. The hardcover copy I have is gorgeous.

CW should just change their name to "The DC Superhero Channel" at this point.
