Thank you, Megan!! I was wondering where you were! Only because I remember you reading a lot last year, not because I'm worried about the level that anyone is contributing. :)

This one sounds really interesting. I don't know much about Spain's history so I always find it exciting to read it through a historical fiction perspective. Thanks for sharing!

I've been wanting to read Daisy Jones too!

We're neck and neck with Hufflepuff! Let's keep this momentum going. You guys are doing so well!
I haven't read Middlesex, but I have read Educated and it was so good! I'm from Utah where our predominant religion is the LDS religion so it was really interesting to read it from that perspective. She is an amazing person!!

Where'd You Go, Bernadette - was not finished during the challenge. I decided to read it because I wanted to watch the movie and always like to read the book first.
I have decided that on my headstone I'm going to have "the book was better than the movie" inscribed. Haha.
The movie was definitely fun, but there's always so much context missing and things that get changed.
I loved this book truly because of the bond between mother and daughter. My first child is my daughter and it makes me think about how much I love her and am looking forward to the years ahead, rather than lamenting the passage of time. Watching our relationship and love grow and change.
I also just love Bernadette as a character. She's got her own mind, doesn't care what people think of her and is truly hilarious. One of my favorite quotes of late came from this book and I'll share it here.
“My heart started racing, not the bad kind of heart racing, like I'm going to die. But the good kind of heart racing, like, Hello, can I help you with something? If not, please step aside because I'm about to kick the shit out of life.”
― Maria Semple, Where'd You Go, Bernadette

We're lagging behind Hufflepuff at this point. They've got a few people finishing books like crazy and less people - so their average is always going to be higher than ours. If that's motivating for you to finish more books, that's the only reason why I share it.
While winning matches and/or tournaments are cool, really the whole point is to have fun. Strategy or not, just take this time to catch up on your reading for the year and enjoy the crap out of those books!
Tell me about a book you've loved recently and why, doesn't have to have been finished during the challenge - this is more to hear you talk about books you love!

We absolutely want to encourage a variety of strategies, but let's talk about them there privately. Thank you!!

Satrina - yessss! I was thinking the same thing. We will treat it like needing a common room password. Proprietary information. ;)
If you have a list, like Betsy said if you want to make it private and people can ask you for access, that works. Or I’m happy to take what you’ve got, put it in Google Drive too.
I’m thinking people can message us directly with their gmail addresses. We will verify that they are a Ravenclaw members and then send the link.

Hi S! Come join us on our house thread!
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Read through the first few posts and let me know if you have questions! You can ask here, message me or Betsy or post on the house thread too. :)

Updated stats, round robin schedule, members WITH links to reserved posts for everyone who has claimed one thus far.
I'm also thinking about using one of my "Reserved" posts to list books that are right around 250 pages, because they will strategically give us the most points with the least pages (gotta think efficiently). If you come across any, send me a message and I'll get it added to the post so people can pick books from there if they're looking for one. The reason why 250 is a magic number is because 249 is 1 point 250 is 2 points and then we don't get to 3 points until 500 pages - so it's the sweet spot of points.
Maybe we could do some shared book shelf kind of thing or list? So then I don't have to keep it up myself?
Are there any other consistent resources that you think would be helpful for our members?
I get a little bit geeky about this kind of stuff, so please indulge me / forgive me. :)
