You've done great and have read so many books this month! So happy you are on our team :)

Hufflepuff: 7.75 exactly
Gryffindor: 7.76 (actually 7.756)
They're only .006 points ahead of us at this point! Thanks for everyone who joined me in reading all day and trying to get some last minute points for Hufflepuff!

October 31
There's still three hours left here I'm going to try to read one more, but I don't know if I'll stay awake long enough.

Gryffindor: 7.32
Thanks Brian! I was hoping you'd show up with another lot of books!
I thought I had a project that had to be completed by the 2nd, but it turns out they don't need it until the 5th! So, I am taking the day off just to read! (and I'll be on here updating frequently throughout the day, so keep those books coming!)

This has all been discussed in the main thread, but I wanted to let you all know here as well. The challenged is based on your time zone. So, any books you finish Before 11:59 pm today (31st of October) will count towards Octobers totals.
However these must be logged by Nov. 1st at 23:59 UTC-12. Here’s a link to check the time: https://time.is/IDLW
If you finished a book in October but didn't post it until after the deadline it will still count towards our overall score, but will not count against Gryffindor. Please try to get your books posted on time, we're behind right now but we still have a chance to catch up!

Gryffindor: 7.32
We still have the rest of the day to read, I know I am planning on finishing at least 2 more books today!

Gryffindor: 6.63
I'm just going to double check everything one last time to make sure this is correct.
*checked again and i'm confident these are the correct totals as of message #432

I'm pretty sure I forgot to save when I updated the second post one day. I should have known when Susan pointed out that the average wasn't updated! Sorry everyone. I promise to be more careful going forward and no more trying to update when I am extremely tired. :/

Tori, mostly because we are so close with Gryffindor, I wanted to mention that I notice you have me at 1..."
I missed 2 of Susan's books, and real life has been a bit chaotic for me this past week, so if everyone could please check and make sure I have the right score by your name it would be appreciated.

Gryfindor: 6.15
We are ahead again! But I have a feeling we will be switching back and forth. Our scores are just so close.

Gryffindor: 6.06
Gryffindor has surpassed us, but just barely! We still have three days left, we can do this!

Gryffindor: 5.53
We're keeping just ahead of them, but they are still right on our tail!
In case you need ideas for quick reads:
Those Scary Story books I just posted are fast and fun. I also thought about breaking out some of my old Goosebumps books. Quick but also festive for Halloween! John mentioned that he was reading some Nancy Drew books. It is easy to get through A Series of Unfortunate Events quickly too.
*edited because I almost forgot The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury. (It is my personal tradition to read this every year on Halloween night.)
