Hi all! Starting up the monthly discussions for November 2020 book-of-the-month suggestions. This discussion is for the MODERN CLASSIC/POPULAR category.Books that qualify for this category:
1. Must have a publication date 1970 or after. For older books, please make your suggestion on the Classics thread.
2. Have not been previously ready by this group. Previously read books can be nominated in the Bookshelf Catchup thread. See the group's Bookshelf for previously read books.
3. Be reasonably well-read to fit the "Everyone Has Read This but Me" claim.
Only one nomination is allowed per person, per category. If you nominate more than one book only your first nomination will be added toward the tracking post. Please continue to second as many nominations that interest you!
Page numbers are now required for every nomination. To find out how many pages a book has; go to the book's page on Goodreads. look under the section titled "GET A COPY" and above the book's ISBN number.

Thank you for posting this Joanna! I agree with Sonsoles and Britt that I love this challenge and want it to continue. I can separate the Harry Potter books from the authors views. I would also like options 1 or 2.I don't want anyone to feel unwelcome participating in this group or the challenge because they associate the books with the author.
Or give the impression that we moderators support Rowling's views. Anyone should be able to join this group and feel comfortable here, no matter who they are.

We have already read The Nightingale, so it is not eligible for this category. You can nominate it over in the catch-up thread!
I've read the first two, but haven't gotten around to reading The Return of the King, so I'm going to just be reading the last book of the trilogy with all of you. I wish I had time to reread the first two, I loved them!
