Yes, it will! Books just have to be started within the timeframe of the challenge.

189072 Can you believe the first week is over already? It has been a great start! Here are the current standings:

Hearts: 7.14 vs. Clubs: 7.67

Spades: 6.55 vs. Diamonds: 5.4

As you can see Clubs has a slight lead over Hearts and Diamonds is working hard to catch up to Spades. I suspect these numbers will change a lot. It is still anyone's game!

189072 @Sarina -
If it is mostly words with just a few illustrations it should count for full points. For example something like Harry Potter has an illustration above every chapter, but would be counted for full points.

189072 @ Saar, sorry I missed this...
It looks like it is about 2.5 hrs. long. Googling average times per pages it looks like about 25-30 pages per hour. I agree that that makes it 1 point and not .5. Yes I think not adding pages to the total is the best way to do this without over complicating things.

189072 Kathy-
exactly 50 pages is an easy read.

189072 Thank you Saar, but just so you know, you don't have to post in this main thread. I am checking all the house threads regularly :)

Because the Middlemarch Read-a-long is meant to be spread out for a more in-depth discussion and it doesn't end until February it will not count for any bonus points.
