Thank you for the update! Praying you get a break from storms, and everything returns to normal as quick as possible.

Y'all - I struggled SO HARD with Mansfield Park (and it was 12 pages short from being worth 3.5 points instead of 2.5 points) - I am definitely relieved to be finished with that!"

I rated it 3* because of a +1 for being a classic. I didn't care for it at all.

John, I see you have 20.5 points but I am getting 21. just verify that for me please, want to make sure I am not counting wrong."

Thank you Jessica! I made some updates but haven't had a chance to double check. Part of my issue might have been I was putting books I was reading but not completed. I need to update again later tonight or tomorrow.

189072 Unless there is an objection, I am going to base my pages based on this link. It says 60 average pages per hour.

So this book above is 3hr 52 minutes so = 232 pages

That is the problem. There is no page count for this book

189072 Do we have an official audiobook time to page converter for the Cup? Probably best if we all use the same one?

189072 I just started Mansfield Park... pray for me. This is one of the hardest styles for me. Thankfully audiobooks allow me to keep moving forward in a book.

Great plan Samantha! This team is going to do great. Remember at the end of the day its all about us taking time out for reading and having a little fun.

Do not let the "house cup" cause you any stress. If it is, take a deep breath and shoot one of us a message and we will chat :) A couple of us have been caught in that cycle and we had to step back and remember its just fun.

If you are a competitive person and want to try and push the limits on books, there are some strategies to keep in mind.
- short book points are available, but limited each month
- to maximize pages to points, look for books that are close to the next tier, 251, 501 etc.
- group reads get +.5 (Mansfield Park, etc)
- not only can you look at team member books, you are free to look at the other house threads and get book ideas. Imitation is the highest form of flattery right :)

I've actually moved to another team. I didn't realise a friend of mine was hosting it. Have a fun game. 🙃"

That is a bummer :(

Best of luck Richard

189072 Does everyone know where to find our "Group Reads"? They are listed on the home page of EHRTBM. There are 3 for Oct already listed. As group members each of us can submit and vote for the November books.

Additionally, we can choose team "book buddy reads" if we want. These do NOT have bonus points but they could have bonus FUN lol. No pressure and you dont have to share your future books or have to buddy read.

If you are open to others reading with you or possibly reading about the same time, feel free to share either on your monthly reading list as TBR or even a google share document.

Hahahaha no! Just love books and this is a fun option for us. I will try not to get super competitive.

About me, I've done this a few times but took a few years off. It is a fun time and adds just a little something extra to our enjoyment of books. We don't usually see books as a "team" activity or a sport so its a little different. At the end of the day just enjoy a book and possibly a chance to chat with our team mates about what everyone is reading. I also like to "steal" others book ideas since my existing TBR isn't long enough already (choke choke)
