It's spelt Darken Rahl too. And the writer clinging on for dear life actually spoils the whole thing. I'd read the series again, but know I'd get pissed once it starts to decline. Will have to track down the show.

Lol, is there a tv show about it? The first 6 or 8 books were actually really good... but then it seemed like he was dragging out the series just for the money :(

The Men with the Golden CuffsI'm pretty sure Lucia Jordan has some of that in one of her little chapter book series... But I hate buying books per chapter (don't even get me started on how rude it is for authors to charge $4 for 50 pages!), so I'm not sure which.

So, they are having a chat and because the bestie is a bit of a man whore, she dares him take the bet. Who can get 10 phone numbers first. He's a man whore, with skill, and knows there's no chance she will win, so he takes the bet. He starts waving phone numbers over the crowds head by memory, and she still hasn't moved from the table. Then, she gives her boy a kiss... and maybe a slap to the face... then she walks over and gets up on the bar with the microphone the bartender has kindly handed over. Once she gets everyone's attention, she does the 'woe is me, my boyfriends a jackass... if anyone would like to help her thru her time of trouble, please leave you're number at the bar.' the bestie accepts he has been out maneuvered and gives in as the male population rushes the bar. Then, to get the attention gone, she loudly makes up with her H. I thought I knew what book the scene was from, but I've just read the section it should be in, and nada. It could be further on in the book, but I think this is the only face to face interaction they have. Could be wrong tho. So if it rings any bells, please let me know. And if it is in this book after all, I'll hang my head in shame for being impatient.
Thx
This isn't it, but it does have mental powers and a few other bits and pieces. Nalini Singh, slave to sensation

Don't think so, but maybe?Assassin's Apprentice... It has the fool, who if from memory, was very close to the King. But the first King wasn't really the focus of th book. The Fool kept up thru h series tho.
Don't think these are it, but just in caseCity of Bones
Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception
Demon Girl
Ok, can't find it, but will keep thinking. The bit about it being the dad throws me a little... but obviously he's a jackass, so it's possible I would have just forgotten about him. This isn't it, but has a vaguely similar plot line... an I do say vaguely. it's not too bad, but I will admit it's in my crap shelf cause the tail end of the story wasn't written very well IMO. But again I will admit, there a quite a few books from that local that end up being re-read. They usually don't get upgrades, but they make for fairly easy reading when required, and most aren't so bad as to send me into a 'bitching' session.

Crap... I'm sure I've read this, but can't think of the title! I think I've read it in the last 6mths give or take. Will have a hunt :)

I said above, I use my notification page as my home, so I see every new thread - an each time one is commented on. Tho I don't click thru to page two and three etc. Usually once a week or so, when I have sometime that needs to be killed, I go head to the very back of the threads... pages 152 etc. I work my way back from there until I run out of time, and then next time, I head back to where I finished last time. Dates usually easier to track... Think I'm only up to Feb or Mar 2014.

They were hooking up at these meetings? If so, how eww would she feel. If you put more in for in your title line, it makes I easier for people to see if it rings any bells.
How old was it? Electronic, hardcopy?

I know what you mean. This group has made my brain lazy. Usually I can find a book within a few hours (a day a the most) of thinking of a scene. I either just keep it churning in the back of my mind and the title slots into place, or I just run my eye over the covers, an the relevant one grabs me. Since I found this site (after struggling to remember only one)... I've now got 5 that I can't figure out for the life of me! It's driving me mad

Sorry, just out of sheer curiosity...cause I know I've never read it...yet.Was it a humorous book? Sound like it might be an almost series of comical trip ups along the lines of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich...
