... I’m gonna throw it in. It’s a Earth/Space/Human/Alien world. After bad aliens attack earth and almost wipe out humans and female fertility, good aliens join in the war and help the humans survive. All girls are tested for fertility, and the ‘Stars’ (fertile) are treated as rare gems to be protected and claimed by two or more approved men. ‘Scrolls’ (infertile) are seen as little more than a waste of resources by some and are generally struggling against discrimination.

The first book has human scroll/4xalien mates, but a throughout the series, there are the various spins on human/human, alien/human and I think alien/alien too. From memory, only one or two are couples, the rest are triads and more.

There’s multiple authors, but if you’re interested, you can search ‘3013:’ to see them all.

Was the girl ‘committed’ to going on 5 (bad) dates do her friends would help her paint her house? She just set up randoms to hit the 5, but stayed at the same bar... so bartender?

Soulbound is the first in a series. The h is early twenties and makes a promise to her dying mother to take a message to her unknown father... who is on the elves home world.

If you want to branch out into sci-fi... the Murderbot series. The lead character is a depressed, anxious & bored ‘construct’ (a robot with human parts). It’s really good!

Sorry, that’s pretty much all I remember this time. It’s possibly a kids book, but I can’t remember ‘pictures’ or ‘kids’ when I think of it.

I have a feeling it MAY have been, not grown up, but maybe not entirely kid written tho... if that makes any sense? Not a primary school reader thats designed for kids, but then it may still be a kids book, or not.

It may have had other stories around it, but I can’t even vaguely remember them... or that they WEREN’T there.

The only other thing that might be true was possibly a cheeky hyena? Maybe.
