The Pearl of Anton?

The details don't exactly match (she's kidnapped by one guy, not two) but the cover sounds similar:

Jessica - do you know if it was a YA book or adult? Was the main character a child, teen, or adult?

ETA: never mind, I just saw you said YA in the thread title. duh.

Was the main character Chinese? Because Jade: A Novel of China fits, but is about a missionary's daughter who is kidnapped and during her escape travels through China.

Ok, I'll keep thinking! Silk Road also comes to mind, it was first published in 1989, but it's got a lot of mythology/fantasy woven into the plot, which doesn't sound quite like what you described.

Kids rescuing kids from a frozen island sounds like The 7 Professors of the Far North, by John Fardell, and I believe there are one or two that follow it. The first two have blue covers.

It does seem an odd book for GR to be advertising, but the quote is so close to what the OP remembered...
