Todd Strasser has a trilogy from the 80s about a teenage rock band. I don't know if they're siblings or not. (edit: they're not)
Rock 'n' Roll Nights is the first one. Sequels are Turn it Up and
WILD LIFEEdit: book two in this series is listed on GR as
Gib Power. Perhaps reissued w/ different title?

Not an exact match to the plot you described, but in case you're misremembering some details:
Losing Louisa ?

Liralen - They are!! SO over the top. You can usually find them cheap on Amazon. The big difference between the two is in Benton's books the characters have all kinds of horrific experiences: runaways, prostitution, teen pregnancy, drug addiction, etc... but at the very end they find Jesus and are saved. It's VERY unintentionally hilarious how they go from rock bottom to Good Christian with lightning speed in the last 5 pages of every book.

This may be one of the books by
Jack W. Thomas. They all have similar plots, with runaways, drugs, prostitution. Maybe one of the titles will jog your memory.

No worries, Sara. I'll move the thread for you. :)

The main character of Runaway's Diary is named Cat. There's a spoiler here:
https://answers.yahoo.com/question/in... that gives some details of the ending that may jog your memory.

Was it a shattered doll face, maybe?

The Kirkus review for Shadows says that the ending of it is virtually the same as the movie The Lawnmower Man. Unfortunately I haven't seen that film, but perhaps this clue will help?

Hooray! I'll move this to "solved" for you.

Sounds EXACTLY like Grounding of Group Six. Only it wasn't summer camp, it was an exclusive boarding school, and the group went on a "special" camping trip before school started.
(it was one of my absolute favorites as a teen!)

Nevermind, I did a little more digging and it seems I was wrong and it is a teen book. I'll move it.

Cool. I've shelved it as adult fiction b/c I don't think it's technically YA/Teen.

So, Shabaz is definitely the book, Lena? I will move this to Solved if so.

hah! Every once in awhile I'll see a notification pop up and know right away which book they're looking for. I didn't even notice what folder it was in, I was so trigger-happy to answer. :)
