Although its been a good few months since we finished the fantastic 'Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race' by Reni Eddo-Lodge, we are very excited to bring the news that Emma will be interviewing Reni sometime in July - and it will be captured on video exclusively for OSS!
We would therefore love to give you a chance to ask Reni a question in the comments section below - and Emma will pick a few to ask her!
If questions could be in by June 30th it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
The OSS Moderators

A new law to pass 'upskirting' as a criminal offence has been blocked by ONE MALE MP in the UK.
Yes, It takes just 1 male MP to shout 'object' and hence completely halt the process of this new law passing.
So, apparently it's totally fine to go around pointing your camera up a women's skirt and taking photos...
This MP's name is Christopher Chope. He is a vile man.
He voted against same sex marriage. Against having a minimum wage. Claimed £137,000 worth of expenses including repairing his own sofa. He objected to a debate about the Hillsborough disaster because he thought talking about MP's pensions was more important.
I want to go and punch him in the face.

Because trust m..."
We'll see how it goes :)
I've met with Meelie loads of times, it's always a fun & light hearted evening - hoping for the same with other members joining in too ;)
If it goes well we will consider more.

Probably somewhere central such as Covent Garden / Leicester Square / Piccadilly :)

You do realise that Emma won't be there, right?
Just us mere mortals ;-) haha.

I would also like to underline the word 'drinks' from Meelie's post ;-)

At Our Shared Shelf, because we value community and listening to voices that are not as often heard, we want to hear more from you.
We would love for you to take part in our poll to decide what we will read next for May/June.
We started off the list with a few suggestions, but feel free to add your own favorite intersectional feminist book selection.
PLEASE VOTE IN THE POLL HERE: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/1...
Absolutely cannot wait to see what you suggest and select!
Love,
Team Our Shared Shelf

The blood jet apparently really is poetry. This book is incredibly raw, vivid, almost Plath-ian and confessional, but it's also so refined, so carefull..."
You still have 2 weeks before we move on Zachary...and there is no rush, some people are just starting our first book from over 2 years ago ;-)
