50x66 Good evening everyone! That's so excited Tara. Sending you good vibes for the final days before #2 arrives. I'm almost done A spool of blue thread and that's about it for me.

50x66 I half listened to I, Robot while I was on a plane and unfortunately it expired before I could actually fully listen to it. Will have to give it another try. I also finished Truly Madly Guilty for a book published this year. I wasn't impressed by it. I'm currently reading A Spool of Blue Thread

50x66 That's a really good description of it Tara.

Hopefully it will start touring worldwide in the next few years so we get a shot to see it :)

50x66 Good morning!

I finished Can You Keep a Secret? which I didn't really enjoy but it was a paperback on my bookshelf and I have resolved to read more books that I already own. I did go out and buy Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and finished that within a few hours on Friday. I didn't love it but I would be very interested to see the play.
I'm currently reading I, Robot which will fit into either a book by an author I feel like should of read by now or a book that you've seen the movie but haven't read.

50x66 I finished A Good House. I quite enjoyed the way she described and developed her characters. It's a slow read and not for everyone.

I'm listening to American Gods but it expires in 2 days and I'm only 25% done so I doubt I will finish that. Also have Can You Keep a Secret? on the go as well.

50x66 Good evening everyone :)

I just finished And Then There Were Nuns: Adventures in a Cloistered Life which was a book club book that I'll be discussing tonight. I quite enjoyed it which isn't too surprising as I love memoirs in general. That's all that I managed to do these past two weeks. I want to read that public shaming book Tara, one of my biggest pet peeves is when people blast/threaten/intimidate others on social media. Good luck with the 1300 page monstrosity Katherine. Is 1984 a long book Charline?

50x66 Tara I'm at 24 books out of 30 for the year. However I haven't been good at meeting my reading challenge goals. Need to start choosing books that fit in with my challenge. Oh well, that's future Mandy's problem :)

Good luck Tara!

I had that on my TBR list but was unsure about it.
Struggling through books is not enjoyable. Glad you are clawing your way out. What's on your list now?

50x66 How far are you away from meeting your goal?
I'm the opposite, I feel like now I have tons of time, desire and patience to read. Really looking forward to coming home and getting absorbed by a book.

Just starting reading a new book this week.A Good House
Jul 17, 2016 02:38PM

50x66 Good afternoon!

I had a few books on the go that I was able to finish up this week.Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, One Evening in Paris andYes Please. I quite enjoyed Amy Poehler's book, she has a beautiful way of describing things. One Evening in Paris was a book I bought for .99 on my Kobo, was a little too mushy for me. The last book is part of a series that I will continue reading.

This week I'm going back to paperback books as I'm home now and have a huge stack of books on my bookshelf. First up is A Good House the 1999 Giller Prize Winner.

50x66 26 weeks already? That's exciting Tara and wonderful to hear you are feeling a little less like death. I'm in full wedding (panic?) mode now so unfortunately my reading progress has really slowed down. I'm still reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children which is quite interesting and I wished I had more down time so I could get through it. I also started I, Robot as an audiobook for my prompt about an author I feel I should of read already. I'll have to check my progress for my yearly goals, I know I had a great start at the beginning of the year but these past two months I have slipped a little. Will be interesting to see where I'm at.
Week 23- June 6 (5 new)
Jun 13, 2016 10:19AM

50x66 I finished Primates of Park Avenue. It was interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie adaptation of it.
Week 22- May 30 (7 new)
Jun 01, 2016 06:31AM

50x66 I heard of Did You Ever Have a Family. It's on my ever expanding TBR list.

I haven't read Me Before You yet, it seemed a little Nicholas Sparks-esque for my liking but you aren't the first person I have heard that has enjoyed it so I think I should give it a chance too.
Week 22- May 30 (7 new)
May 31, 2016 02:45PM

50x66 I didn't finish anything. It was a very busy week.
Glad you enjoyed the Martian Tara. It's nice to zoom through a book you are enjoying. Way to go Clare!
Week 21- May 23 (4 new)
May 24, 2016 07:13AM

50x66 Good morning,

I finished Make 'Em Laugh: Short-Term Memories of Longtime Friends which was quite funny. I love Debbie Reynolds. I also finished Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore and currently a few on the go, the joy of borrowing from the library and not finishing. I do have a book club meeting next week so I'm going to have to pause those books I have on the go to read Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

I haven't heard of the books Clare and Charline read but I did read the Martian and I loved it. I laughed out loud so many times and zoomed through that book. I then lent it out to a few different people and the majority of them also zoomed through it and really enjoyed it. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on it.
Week 20- May 16 (4 new)
May 17, 2016 08:30AM

50x66 Good morning!

I finished Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore and I'm finished Make 'Em Laugh: Short-Term Memories of Longtime Friends.

Charline I also bought that book for the same reason, it was $1.99! Glad to hear it was good.

I feel like I'm on a reading slump as well, I read/listen to some of my books from the library but I haven't been able to finish them in time so I have a lot of books on the go at the moment. Hopefully I can get back on track here in the next few weeks and start crossing things off my prompts as I haven't been very good choosing books to read that fit that criteria as of late.
Week 19- May 9 (5 new)
May 10, 2016 07:02AM

50x66 I haven't finished anything this week. Still in the middle of a few books. Been really busy since I got back and only able to manage a few pages at night before bed. Hope to better next week.

What book are you reading Tara?
Week 18- May 2 (10 new)
May 07, 2016 01:17AM

50x66 Good morning or is it good evening? I'm extremely jet legged so not sure what time zone I'm in! I finished Pillars of the Earth! Finally. It wasn't as great as I was led to believe. Basically it was attack attack, build cathedral, attack attack and then repeat. I'm currently in the middle of a few books. I have Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore and Yes Please on the go. Unfortunately I didn't finish Hilary Clinton's book before it expired but I do plan on getting it again so I can finish. Happy reading everyone and I'm adding Water for Elephants to my TBR list too :)
Apr 26, 2016 04:16PM

50x66 Good morning!

I'm close to finishing The Pillars of the Earth.
Are you enjoying House Rules Tara? How about Water for Elephants? I haven't read either but heard Water for Elephants was pretty good.

Keep at it Katherine! We all get into slumps, I hope you find a book that captures your attention soon.
