174195 Don't Ever Tell by Lucy Dawson

My current read would work for published in summer, but since it sounds like there are a few other options for that I looked into summer holidays. I found a few references via Google that indiicate that July 7 is International Ponytail Day which seems to fit!

I will catch up on the game when I can get to an actual computer to type out those spoiler tags.

174195 I'm starting Summer of the Mariposas which would work for nature if we don't have it checked off when I finish. Mariposas are butterflies and there is a butterfly on the cover, so it seemed a good pick for the team even if it only counts for pages! :)

174195 The Thirteenth Tale was my choice for the book with a number in the title or on the cover and i really enjoyed it.

174195 Just realized that while my copy of The Bell Jar has a green spine, the cover is actually red for the cover prompt. Oops! :)
Jun 08, 2019 12:35PM

174195 I finished Those People which works for pub in 2019.

Ive also read 240 pages so far today. I think this means we can count bucket 3 as done?

I'm now working on The Bell Jar which is for an ATY prompt, has a character whose name begins with E and my edition has a green cover, so lots of options depending on where we are with buckets!

174195 Im down to just 20 pages in Those People. It is an Advanced Reader Copy /print format, publishing in 2019 (on Tuesday).

I'll hold off finishing until we're on bucket 4 (the author is new to me) unless you want me to finish for bucket 3. :)

174195 1. You have 20,000 books in your TBR, how in the world do you decide what to read next?
Ask someone for a recomendation or choose at random.

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you put it down or are you committed?
Set it aside!

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re behind on your reading challenge, do you try to catch up? And if so, how?
Probably yes, with more audiobooks, shorter books.

4. The covers of a series you own and love do not match, how do you cope?
I'm fine... I don't tend to collect.

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book that you do not. Who do you bond with over your shared feelings?
People on bookstagram, unpopular opinions are generally shared by someone.

6. You’re reading a book in public and you’re about to start crying. How do you deal?
Throw on sunglasses?

7. The sequel to a book you loved just came out but you’ve forgotten a lot of what happens. Are you going to reread it?
Probably no, but look at some reviews for the first.

8. You do not want anyone to borrow your books, how do you politely say no when someone asks?
I'm holding it for someone else.

9. You have picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over this reading slump?
Go to a favorite genre or something totally new and different.

10. There are so many books coming out that you are dying to read, how many do you end up buying?
New releases typically come from the library.

11. After you purchase all of these books that you’re dying to read how long do they sit on your shelves before you get to them?
A long, long time.

174195 My 6/7 total is 347.

I have about 125 pages left in my current read which I can finish tomorrow or Sunday depennding on bucket timing. It would work for published in 2019 or new to me author.

Good work everyone and good night!

My first thought was gender too! Living or dead was also a good one. Narrowing down genre would be good, but hard if they are yes/no only questions, but could maybe try the most popular ones. Also thought that a question on whether they have published 5 or more books (or a different number) could help clarify a new vs more established author.

174195 I finished the kick off post!

I'm going to be out and about a lot today, so getting some pages done via audio with Gone with the Wind for a buddy read. I will not be finishing this during the read-a-thon, but it counts for pages.

Tonight I'm prioritizing Those People in print which I can likely finish tomorrow if it is needed for anything. I will leave a chapter or two until I see if it is needed for a bucket, though I do want to finish it this weekend since it releases Tuesday.

Happy reading everyone!

2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish?
I have an ARC for Those People that i especially want to finish because it releases Tuesday

3. Where will you be doing most of your reading?
Mostly at home, weather is still pretty chilly for much outdoor reading.

4. Are you participating in the team challenge?

We're celebrating fathers day early this weekend which will take up a chunk of my prime readingvtime, but otherwise no.

6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon?
Lots of reading!
Jun 06, 2019 08:53PM

174195 Yay butterflies! I have books by women in progress, but I'm sure that will be checked off by the time I get going in CA. Sounds like bucket one is more than covered.

I'm working on books set in Australia and Europe next if we need them for bucket 2 and have an ebook and audiobook I want to get in on the weekend too. I'll hold off finishing anything until I can check where we are bucket wise!
